Sequences in Genetic Algebras for Overlapping Generations

چکیده
When Etherington (2) introduced linear commutative non-associative algebras in connection with problems in theoretical genetics, he pointed out that various sequences of elements in these algebras represented different mating systems. In all such systems it was however assumed that the generations did not overlap, and this restriction has been kept in later work in this field. In this paper we treat sequences which make it possible to find the probability distribution in successive generations in a discrete time model where the generations may be overlapping. We also consider idempotents in genetic algebras and outline how the method used on the overlapping generation sequence may be applied to other sequences. Unless otherwise stated all algebras considered have the complex numbers as the scalar field. Capital letters are used for all algebra elements.

holds in A. This class of algebras was introduced by Holgate [4], following the original work of Bernstein [2] and subsequent investigations by Lyubich [5] on idempotent quadratic maps from a real simplex into itself. A summary of known results on Bernstein algebras (up to 1980) is given in Worz-Busekros [8], which will also be used as a basic reference on algebras in genetics. All definitions ...
متن کاملThe Survey of Conditions for Establishment of the Double Dividend Hypothesis: An Overlapping Generations Approach.
This paper, we analyze the double-dividend issues by the design of overlapping generations approach. We characterize the necessary conditions for the obtaining a double dividend, i.e. an improvement of environmental and non-environmental welfare when the revenue of the pollution taxis recycled into a change of the labor tax rate. We show that first advantage of the double dividend theory depend...

Esox lucius is an economically important freshwater species. Mitochondrial cytb, 12SrRNA, and 16SrRNA gene sequences were used in order to clarify the genetic variation and population structure in three E. Lucius populations, i.e., one Wild population (W) and two hatchery populations (Hatchery Population I-HPI and Hatchery Population II-HPII). A total of 55 individuals, with 19 from wild and 1...

In this paper, using a general equilibrium model of overlapping generations, the impact of different financing plans of the banking industry on their risk-taking motivation is investigated. In the non-competitive banking industry, financing is done by imposing taxes on the older generation or the bankchr('39')s internal resources (bank shares). As an effective policy, this action optimizes soci...
