چکیده

Identifying influential users and predicting their “network impact” on social networks have attracted tremendous interest from both academia and industry. Most of the developed algorithms and tools are mainly dependent on the static network structure instead of the dynamic diffusion process over the network, and are thus essentially based on descriptive models instead of predictive models. In this paper, we propose a dynamic information propagation model based on Continuous-Time Markov Process to predict the influence dynamics of social network users, where the nodes in the propagation sequences are the users, and the edges connect users who refer to the same topic contiguously on time. Our proposed model is compared with two baselines, including a wellknown time-series forecasting model – Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average and a widely accepted information diffusion model – Independent cascade. Experimental results validate our ideas and demonstrate the prediction performance of our proposed algorithms.

Information Diffusion Temporal Dynamic Prediction in Microblog System Based On User Influence Learning

Information diffusion in online social network especially in microblog system, can largely affect the public opinion and even the development of events, so the prediction of the future dynamics of diffusion could be very valuable at many aspects. In this research, a novel graphbased cascades construct algorithm is proposed, with which we build a prediction model for future information diffusion...

A social recommender system based on matrix factorization considering dynamics of user preferences

With the expansion of social networks, the use of recommender systems in these networks has attracted considerable attention. Recommender systems have become an important tool for alleviating the information that overload problem of users by providing personalized recommendations to a user who might like based on past preferences or observed behavior about one or various items. In these systems...

Item-Level Social Influence Prediction with Probabilistic Hybrid Factor Matrix Factorization

Social influence has become the essential factor which drives the dynamic evolution process of social network structure and user behaviors. Previous research often focus on social influence analysis in network-level or topic-level. In this paper, we concentrate on predicting item-level social influence to reveal the users’ influences in a more fine-grained level. We formulate the social influen...

A Unified Probabilistic Model of User Activities and Relations on Social Networking Sites

In this work, we investigate the bidirectional mutual interactions (BMI) between users’ activities and user-user relationships on social networking sites. We analyze and study the fundamental mechanism that drives the characteristics and dynamics of BMI is the underlying social influence. We make an attempt at a unified probabilistic approach, called joint activity and relation (JAR), for model...
