چکیده

Car-to-car and car-to-infrastructure (henceforth called C2X) communications are constantly gaining importance for roadsafety and other applications. In order to design efficient C2X systems, an understanding of realistic C2X propagation channels is required, but currently, only few measurements have been published. This paper presents a description of an extensive measurement campaign recently conducted in an urban scenario, a rural scenario, and on a highway. We focused on 4 × 4 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) measurements at a center frequency of 5.2GHz with high Doppler resolution. As first results from evaluating the measurement data we present the power-delay profile and the delay-Doppler spectrum from a selected, especially interesting measurement run from an urban measurement route. We observe dispersed Doppler contributions between zero and the Doppler shift corresponding to the relative speed of the cars, and very concentrated (in the Doppler domain), contributions from double reflections. Surprisingly, we also found paths with larger delays and zero Doppler shifts.

Temporal-Angular channel sounding measurements of an indoor millimeter wave channel (60 GHz) is analyzed to determine the location of two dimensional clusters of arrivals at the receiver. The measurement scenarios are also emulated by a ray tracing tool. The results are similarly analyzed to verify possible agreements and determine the effectiveness of such tools in predicting cluster locations...

In this paper, we present a self sufficient and distributed localization algorithm for wireless sensor networks that does not require any external infrastructure support to estimate sensor node coordinates. Our algorithm uses measured inter-node distances and localizes the entire network in a local coordinate system upto a global translation, rotation and reflection. Using TOSSIM simulations, w...

The high demand for unlicensed spectrum mandates the use of higher frequencies, such as the 60 GHz band, where large amounts unlicensed bandwidth exists. In this paper, the results from Power Azimuth Spectrum (PAS) measurements in a home and an office environment are presented with a view of revealing the amount of scattering power at that frequency and its relative power to the Line-of-Sight (...

First Person Shooter (FPS) games are a popular online gaming genre played predominately over wired networks. FPS games are highly interactive and have stringent delay requirements. However, the explosive growth in wireless LAN (WLAN) deployment has seen an increase in the use of such networks for gaming purposes. The varied performance of the IEEE 802.11 MAC Distributed Coordination Function (D...

This paper describes an outdoor MIMO measurement campaign conducted in the 2GHz band employing a sounding bandwidth of 20MHz. The study aimed to compare the MIMO performance of two prototype devices with a reference dipole antenna module. The results obtained reveal a systematic blocking of one of the PDA antenna ports with the user’s thumb alongside a significant reduction in the available MIM...
