چکیده
Objective: To explore clinical efficacy of forearm skin defect repaired by anterolateral thigh flap combined with external fixation. Methods: Twelve patients hospitalized in Jinshan hospital with forearm skin defect from October 2008 to June 2013 were retrospectively analysed. Area of forearm skin defect ranged from 9.5 cm × 4.5 cm to 20.5 cm × 12.0 cm. Ten patients were operated with emergent debridement, repairing blood vessels, nerves, muscles and fixing bone fracture within 8 h after broken called as the first phase. Twelve patients were repaired forearm skin defect used anterolateral thigh flap within 10 days called as the

Free anterolateral thigh full-thickness skin flap with vascularized lateral femoral cutaneous nerve for the reconstruction of facial nerve and external auditory canal after the resection of facial nerve schwannoma
The complex reconstruction of nerves and soft tissue in the head and neck region is still challenging, especially in cases requiring external auditory canal reconstruction with facial nerve reconstruction. We report a case of left facial schwannoma extending into the external auditory canal beyond the tympanic membrane with facial paralysis in which the reconstruction of both the facial nerve a...

Due to the significant morbidity and mortality associated with pharyngocutaneous fistula in pharyngoesophageal reconstruction following cancer resection, the purpose of this retrospective study is to examine the selection of tubed skin flaps that impact anastomotic integrity. The flaps evaluated included radial forearm flap versus anterolateral thigh flap, and fasciocutaneous anterolateral thig...

The anterolateral thigh flap: radial forearm's "big brother" for extensive soft tissue head and neck defects.
OBJECTIVE The anterolateral thigh flap has recently been rediscovered in Asia as a perforator flap. The objective of this study was to describe the reliability and donor morbidity of the anterolateral thigh flap for head and neck reconstruction without transmuscular perforator dissection. DESIGN Consecutive case series by a single surgeon. SETTING A regional tertiary-referral head, neck, an...
متن کاملUtilization of a Continuous External Tissue Expansion System to Assist in Primary Closure of a Large Anterolateral Thigh Donor Site Defect
Primary closure of a large anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap donor site defect with the assistance of an external tissue expansion system is presented. The dimensions of this donor site (12 cm × 40 cm) and its percentage of leg circumference (34%) would make this site likely to require skin grafting or further flap coverage based on the results of previously published literature.
