Minimum cycle bases of Halin graphs
نویسنده
چکیده
Halin graphs are planar 3-connected graphs that consist of a tree and a cycle connecting the end vertices of the tree. It is shown that all Halin graphs that are not “necklaces” have a unique minimum cycle basis.

Minimum cycle bases of graphs on surfaces
In this paper we study the cycle base structures of embedded graphs on surfaces. We first give a sufficient and necessary condition for a set of facial cycles to be contained in a minimum cycle base (or MCB in short) and then set up a 1-1 correspondence between the set of MCBs and the set of collections of nonseparating cycles which are in general positions on surfaces and are of shortest total...
متن کاملHomeomorphically Irreducible Spanning Trees, Halin Graphs, and Long Cycles in 3-connected Graphs with Bounded Maximum Degrees
A tree T with no vertex of degree 2 is called a homeomorphically irreducible tree (HIT) and if T is spanning in a graph, then T is called a homeomorphically irreducible spanning tree (HIST). Albertson, Berman, Hutchinson and Thomassen asked if every triangulation of at least 4 vertices has a HIST and if every connected graph with each edge in at least two triangles contains a HIST. These two qu...
متن کاملBoxicity of Halin graphs
A k-dimensional box is the Cartesian product R1 × R2 × · · · ×Rk where each Ri is a closed interval on the real line. The boxicity of a graph G, denoted as box(G) is the minimum integer k such that G is the intersection graph of a collection of k-dimensional boxes. Halin graphs are the graphs formed by taking a tree with no degree 2 vertex and then connecting its leaves to form a cycle in such ...
متن کاملVPG and EPG bend-numbers of Halin Graphs
A piecewise linear simple curve in the plane made up of k+1 line segments, each of which is either horizontal or vertical, with consecutive segments being of different orientation is called a k-bend path. Given a graph G, a collection of k-bend paths in which each path corresponds to a vertex in G and two paths have a common point if and only if the vertices corresponding to them are adjacent i...
متن کاملOn the Laplacian spectral radii of Halin graphs
Let T be a tree with at least four vertices, none of which has degree 2, embedded in the plane. A Halin graph is a plane graph constructed by connecting the leaves of T into a cycle. Thus the cycle C forms the outer face of the Halin graph, with the tree inside it. Let G be a Halin graph with order n. Denote by [Formula: see text] the Laplacian spectral radius of G. This paper determines all th...
