Plural, a Non-commutative Extension of Singular: Past, Present and Future
نویسنده
چکیده
We describe the non–commutative extension of the computer algebra system Singular, called Plural. In the system, we provide rich functionality for symbolic computation within a wide class of non– commutative algebras. We discuss the computational objects of Plural, the implementation of main algorithms, various aspects of software engineering and numerous applications. Singular:Plural or, shortly, Plural [19] is a subsystem of a computer algebra system Singular [20]. It provides the framework for symbolic computations with one– and two–sided ideals and modules over non–commutative GR–algebras (Def. 2). Most of Gröbner basics (Sect. 2.5) are available in the kernel of the implementation, ranging from the elimination of variables to free resolutions. Additional functions and libraries provide many useful tools and advanced algorithms for non–commutative algebra. The powerful implementation and rich functionality make Plural a very helpful system for supporting the research in many fields on mathematics and its applications.

Vagueness and Plural Predication
This paper addresses the question of how to model the application of vague predicates like tall and bald to plural subjects like John and Mary and the men. In other words, we are interested in developing a logical analysis for natural language sentences like Mary is tall and The men are bald. In the past 30 years, much research has been devoted to finding the proper logical framework to model t...

This study addresses the acquisition of the morphological markers in Persian learners of English as a foreign language. To this end, the accuracy order of nine morphemes including plural –s, progressive –ing, copula be, auxiliary be, irregular past tense, regular past tense –ed, third person –s, possessive -ʼs and indefinite articles was studied in 6...

Background and Objectives: Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) viruses are particularly important due to huge economic consequences and public health concerns. During recent years, because of the severity of epidemics and failure in the control and eradication of HPAI, vaccination has been introduced into the National Prevention and Control Program of some countries, including Iran. This a...

Introduction: One of the major issues in the field of linguistics that has attracted the attention of neurologists, linguists and psychologists of language is bilingual aphasia. this study has been done to investigate the morphological deficits of nouns (singular, plural, and collective) in Kurdish-Persian bilingual Broca’s aphasic patients. Materials and Methods: The research method was descri...
متن کاملThe Square of Individuals
Coordinate, plural and predicative constructions of noun phrases are common and highly productive in natural languages. They are also related in intricate ways: conjunctive coordination is one of the simple means to form plural NP’s from singular ones; many coordinate and plural NP’s appear naturally in predicative positions. Any theory of grammar and semantic interpretation should account for ...
