چکیده
*Corresponding Author Kemei Peng [email protected] The Ostrich tibia belongs to the long bone, which has a complex structure comprising to different types of bone cell, a calcified extracellular matrix and two crisscross pipelines. Few present report concerning on the histological structure of Ostrich tibia had been carried out. This experiment was carried out to investigate the Tibia Morphological characteristics of four Ostriches (oneyear-old) with Bone mineral density (BMD), ultrastructure (SEM) and microstructure. The results indicated the BMD of the Ostrich tibia was high, 7fold greater than chicken (breeding birds) and scanning electron microscopy showed firm and strong, without any honeycomb-shaped structure. Microstructure had three characteristics: layers of cortical bone are clear; outer circumferential lamella and inner circumferential lamella are thicker than those in other animals; a special “transition zone” between the outer circumferential lamella and osteon zone is present. In addition, degeneration and coalesces together with tibia gradually.

Morphological and histochemical observations of the organic components of ostrich eggshell.
The organic component of the avian eggshell can be divided into 3 portions, the shell membranes, the matrix and the cuticle. These have been well characterised in the chicken but little has been published with regard to the ostrich (Struthio camelus). A number of recent studies have indicated that the cause of intra-shell embryonic deaths in the ostrich is similar to intra-shell embryonic death...
متن کاملSequence Analysis of Fusion Gene of Newcastle Disease Viruses Isolated from Ostrich (Struthio camelus) in Iran, 2012
Background and Aims: Newcastle disease virus (NDV) infection have been established in at least 241species of birds representing 27 of the 50 orders of the class.NDV isolate were obtained from infected ostrich flock during the outbreaks of ND in Iran 2012. The F gene fragment which codes the main functional region of the F protein was obtained by RT-PCR and sequenced. Methods: From the pathotype...
متن کاملEvaluation of the morphological features of the uterine tubes during postnatal development in West African Dwarf goats (Capra hircus)
The objective of this study was to highlight the postnatal development of the uterine tubes of the West African Dwarf goat from birth to 28 weeks of age by gross examination and light microscopy. There was a caudal migration of the paired uterine tubes from behind the paired kidneys at birth to the pelvic inlet at week 8 of age. Each uterine tube exhibited three segments namely; infundibulum, a...
متن کاملLead removal from aqueous solution using ostrich feathers modified by hydrogen peroxide
Introduction: Lead is the major toxicant found in industrial effluent that can adversely affect environment and human health. Conventional methods for the removal of this metal from waste waters are often cost prohibitive. This study was conducted to investigate the effect ostrich feathers modified by hydrogen peroxide on lead removal from waste water. Methods: In this descriptive and practical...
متن کاملMorphologic Evaluation of the Fertilized and Unfertilized Ostrich Egg during the Early Stages of Development (MRI Analysis)
Introduction: The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique permits to monitor the development of the embryo in vivo without causing any developmental defects. Although increasing application of MRI imaging are predicted in veterinary sciences, there is little information available about MRI studies of avian embryos and their eggs. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the o...
