Palladium nanoparticles immobilized on multifunctional ‎hyperbranched polyglycerol-grafted magnetic nanoparticles as a ‎sustainable and efficient catalyst for C-C coupling reactions

This study offers an exclusive class of magnetic nanoparticles supported hyperbranched polyglycerol (MNP/HPG) that was functionalized with citric acid (MNP/HPG-CA) as a host immobilization of palladium nanoparticles. The MNP/HPG-CA/Pd catalyst was fully characterized using some different techniques such as thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), x-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microsco...

A highly sensitive technique for detecting catalytically active nanoparticles against a background of general workplace aerosols

A new measurement technique was studied using catalysis to specifically detect airborne nanoparticles in presence of background particles in the workplace air. Catalytically active nanoparticles produced by spark discharge were used as aerosol catalysts. According to these particles suitable catalytic test reactions were chosen and investigated by two different approaches: catalysis on airborne...

Palladium Loaded on Magnetic Nanoparticles as Efficient and Recyclable Catalyst for the Suzuki- Miyaura Reaction

Palladium is the best metal catalyst for Suzuki cross coupling reaction for synthesize of unsymmetrical biaryl compounds. But its high cost limits its application in wide scale. Using of nanoscale particles as active catalytic cites is a good approach for reducing needed noble metal. By loading precious nanoparticles on magnetic nanocores as a support, recycling and reusing of catalyst will be ...

Catalysis by metallic nanoparticles in aqueous solution: model reactions.

Catalysis by metallic nanoparticles is certainly among the most intensely studied problems in modern nanoscience. However, reliable tests for catalytic performance of such nanoparticles are often poorly defined, which makes comparison and benchmarking rather difficult. We tackle in this tutorial review a subset of well-studied reactions that take place in aqueous phase and for which a comprehen...

Unique catalysis of gold nanoparticles in the chemoselective hydrogenolysis with H2: cooperative effect between small gold nanoparticles and a basic support.

Gold nanoparticles on hydrotalcite act as a heterogeneous catalyst for the chemoselective hydrogenolysis of various allylic carbonates to the corresponding terminal alkenes using H(2) as a clean reductant. The combination of gold nanoparticles and basic supports elicited significantly unique and selective catalysis in the hydrogenolysis.

Catalytically Graphitized Electrospun Carbon Nanofibers Adorned with Nickel Nanoparticles for Catalysis Applications

Catalytically graphitized electrospun carbon nanofibers adorned uniformly with fine nickel nanoparticles were successfully prepared. The procedure was based on the electrospinning technique and the use of nickel precursor to create both graphitized nanofibers and nickel nanoparticles under a relatively low-temperature heat treatment. The X-ray diffraction and Raman results clearly proved cataly...
