Assigning Resources to Budget-Constrained Agents

چکیده
Suppose that a government wishes to distribute a resource such as public land or radio spectrum. A natural option is to sell it at the market-clearing price, via a standard auction, but other methods have a long history, as the passage above indicates. Land was assigned on a first-come first-served basis during the 1889 Oklahoma Land Rush. In many countries, new housing units may be subject to binding price caps, with the units assigned by lottery.1 Various priority rules are used as well. For example, children are accepted into public schools based on where they live, which school their siblings attend, or the outcome of a lottery. Priority rules also determine which transplant patients get organs, based on factors such as the patient’s age and the severity of the condition. According to the Coase theorem, the exact method of assigning a good does not affect the efficiency of the ultimate allocation since individuals will negotiate until they exhaust all gains

CREDIBILITY-BASED FUZZY PROGRAMMING MODELS TO SOLVE THE BUDGET-CONSTRAINED FLEXIBLE FLOW LINE PROBLEM
This paper addresses a new version of the exible ow line prob- lem, i.e., the budget constrained one, in order to determine the required num- ber of processors at each station along with the selection of the most eco- nomical process routes for products. Since a number of parameters, such as due dates, the amount of available budgets and the cost of opting particular routes, are imprecise (fuzz...
متن کاملGA-based cloud resource estimation for agent-based execution of bag-of-tasks applications
Executing bag-of-tasks applications in multiple Cloud environments while satisfying both consumers’ budgets and deadlines poses the following challenges: How many resources and how many hours should be allocated? What types of resources are required? How to coordinate the distributed execution of bag-of-tasks applications in resources composed from multiple Cloud providers?. This work proposes ...

“Financial system” enforces long and stable restrictions through assigning numerical limitations on the fundamental indices of budget. After such restrictions are formed, the determined quantities are not changeable during the relevant time period and such determined quantities would be the guideline for the execution of financial policies. By being dependent on oil revenues in an unbalanced m...
متن کاملA Deadline and Budget Constrained Cost-Time Optimisation Algorithm for Scheduling Task Farming Applications on Global Grids
Computational Grids and peer-to-peer (P2P) networks enable the sharing, selection, and aggregation of geographically distributed resources for solving large-scale problems in science, engineering, and commerce. The management and composition of resources and services for scheduling applications, however, becomes a complex undertaking. We have proposed a computational economy framework for regul...
متن کاملA Preemptive multimode resource constrained project scheduling model with cash flows
Resource constrained project scheduling problem is one of the most important issues in project planning and management. The objective function of this problem is to minimize the completion time of a project. When there is budget constraint or high risk for investment, using the criteria such as cash flows is so important. The development of computer systems and processors makes it possible to t...
