Obtaining fuzzy rules from interval-censored data with genetic algorithms and a random sets-based semantic of the linguistic labels

چکیده
Fuzzy memberships can be understood as coverage functions of random sets. This interpretation makes sense in the context of fuzzy rule learning: a random sets-based semantic of the linguistic labels is compatible with the use of fuzzy statistics for obtaining knowledge bases from data. In particular, in this paper we formulate the learning of a fuzzy rule based classifier as a problem of statistical inference. We propose to learn rules by maximizing the likelihood of the classifier. Furthermore, we have extended this methodology to interval censored data, and propose to use upper and lower bounds of the likelihood to evolve rule bases. Combining descent algorithms and a co-evolutionary scheme, we are able to obtain rule-based classifiers from imprecise datasets, and can also identify the conflictive instances in the training set: those that contribute the most to the indetermination of the likelihood of the model.

متن کاملA NEW APPROACH IN FAILURE MODES AND EFFECTS ANALYSIS BASED ON COMPROMISE SOLUTION BY CONSIDERING OBJECTIVE AND SUBJECTIVE WEIGHTS WITH INTERVAL-VALUED INTUITIONISTIC FUZZY SETS
Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) is a well-known risk analysis approach that has been conducted to distinguish, analyze and mitigate serious failure modes. It demonstrates the effectiveness and the ability of understanding and documenting in a clear manner; however, the FMEA has weak points and it has been criticized by some authors. For example, it does not consider relative importanc...
متن کاملCorrelation coefficients of linguistic interval hesitant fuzzy sets and their application
To address the hesitancy, inconsistency and uncertainty of decision makers’ cognitions, linguistic interval hesitant fuzzy sets (LIHFSs) are efficient tools. This paper focuses on studying the application of LIHFSs. To do this, two correlation coefficients of LIHFSs are defined, which needn't consider the length of elements in LIHFSs or the arrangement of their possible interval values. To addr...
متن کاملMultiple attribute group decision making with linguistic variables and complete unknown weight information
Interval type-2 fuzzy sets, each of which is characterized by the footprint of uncertainty, are a very useful means to depict the linguistic information in the process of decision making. In this article, we investigate the group decision making problems in which all the linguistic information provided by the decision makers is expressed as interval type-2 fuzzy decision matrices where each of ...
متن کاملA Multi-Criteria Analysis Model under an Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Environment with an Application to Production Project Decision Problems
Using Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) to solve complicated decisions often includes uncertainty, which could be tackled by utilizing the fuzzy sets theory. Type-2 fuzzy sets consider more uncertainty than type-1 fuzzy sets. These fuzzy sets provide more degrees of freedom to illustrate the uncertainty and fuzziness in real-world production projects. In this paper, a new multi-criteria ana...
