Cytological changes in regenerating mouse liver.

Fundamental to the understanding and inter pretation of histochemical and chemical changes in the liver following partial hepatectomy (18, 21) is a knowledge of the behavior of the cells during the process of restoration or regeneration. Some of the changes in the liver of various species including rats, following extirpation of two-thirds of the liver, have been described (3, 7, 9, 15, 17). The present study concerns the cytological changes in the livers of mice subjected to partial hepatec tomy. Details concerning the mice and the method of operation have been given in the preceding paper (22).
