On the chemical bonding effects in the Raman response: Benzenethiol adsorbed on silver clusterswz
We study the effects of chemical bonding on Raman scattering from benzenethiol chemisorbed on silver clusters using time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). Raman scattering cross sections are computed using a formalism that employs analytical derivatives of frequency-dependent electronic polarizabilities, which treats both off-resonant and resonant enhancement within the same scheme. ...

متن کاملSurface-enhanced Raman scattering of 4-aminobenzenethiol on gold: the concept of threshold energy in charge transfer enhancement.
Some threshold energy is required for 4-aminobenzenethiol to occupy the gold surface sites capable of leading to the appearance of surface-enhanced Raman scattering peaks via a charge transfer resonance enhancement mechanism.
متن کاملSelection rules of the charge transfer mechanism of surface-enhanced Raman scattering: The effect of the adsorption on the relative intensities of pyrimidine bonded to silver nanoclusters.
Surface-enhanced Raman spectra (SERS) of pyrimidine recorded on a silver electrode have been analyzed on the basis of a resonant Raman (RR) process involving photoexcited charge transfer (CT) states of the metal-adsorbate surface complex. The main feature of the SERS of benzene and azine derivatives is the enhancement of the totally symmetric ring stretching mode 8a due to Franck-Condon contrib...
متن کاملResonant soft x-ray Raman scattering of NiO
Resonant soft X-ray Raman scattering measurements on NiO have been made at photon energies across the Ni 2p absorption edges. The details of the spectral features are identified as Raman scattering due to d−d and charge-transfer excitations. The spectra are interpreted within the single impurity Anderson model, including multiplets, crystal-field and charge-transfer effects. At threshold excita...
