Pseudo-tetrahedral complexes

A pseudo-triangulation is a cell complex in the plane whose cells are pseudo-triangles, i.e., simple polygons with exactly three convex vertices (so-called corners). Being an interesting and flexible generalization of triangulations, pseudo-triangulations have found their place in computational geometry; see e.g. [8, 11, 7, 1] and references therein. Unlike triangulations, pseudo-triangulations eluded a meaningful generalization to higher dimensions so far. In this paper, we define pseudo-simplices and pseudo-simplicial complexes in d-space in a way consistent to pseudo-triangulations in the plane. Flip operations in pseudo-complexes are specified, as combinations of flips in pseudo-triangulations [11, 1], and of bistellar flips in simplicial complexes [9, 5, 4]. Our results are based on the concept of maximal locally convex functions on polyhedral domains [1], that allows us to unify several well-known structures, namely pseudo-triangulations, constrained Delaunay triangulations [3, 14], and regular simplicial complexes [2, 5]. Several implications of our results exist, and challenging open questions arise.

Conversion of tetrahedral to octahedral structures upon solvent coordination: studies on the M[(OPPh2)(SePPh2)N]2 (M = Co, Ni) and [Ni{(OPPh2)(EPPh2)N}2(dmf)2] (E = S, Se) complexes.
The synthesis of the M[(OPPh(2))(SePPh(2))N](2), M = Co (1), Ni (2) complexes was accomplished by metathetical reactions between the corresponding M(II) salts and the deprotonated form of the dichalcogenated imidodiphosphinato ligand [(OPPh(2))(SePPh(2))N](-). X-Ray crystallography revealed a pseudo-tetrahedral MO(2)Se(2) coordination sphere, owing to the asymmetric (O,Se) nature of the chelati...
متن کاملActivation of CO2 by phosphinoamide hafnium complexes.
Hf-phosphinoamide cation complexes behave as metal-based frustrated Lewis pairs and bind one or two equivalent of CO2 and in as well can activate CO2 in a bimetallic fashion to give a pseudo-tetrahedral P2CO2 fragment linking two Hf centres.
متن کاملPropentdyopent: the scaffold of a heme metabolite as an electron reservoir in transition metal complexes.
The dipyrrin-1,9-dione scaffold of heme metabolite propendyopent coordinates late transition metals (Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn) forming homoleptic, pseudo-tetrahedral complexes. Electrochemical and spectroscopic studies reveal that the monoanionic, bidentate ligands behave as electron reservoirs as the complexes reversibly host one or two ligand-based radicals.

In this paper, two double helical dinuclear copper(II) complexes of bis-N,O-bidentate Schiff base ligands bis(3-methoxy-N-salicylidene-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl)sulfone (L1) and bis(5-bromo-N-salicylidene-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl)sulfone (L2) were prepared and characterized by elemental analyses (CHN), as well as thermal analysis. Elemental analyses (CHN) suggested that the reaction between ligands and ...

A series of six new aluminum(III) complexes with o-metalated arylimine ligands [o-C6H4(CH]NR') (R' 1⁄4 2,6-iPr2C6H3, 2,6-Me2C6H3)] have been synthesized from the reactions of R2AlCl (R 1⁄4Me, Et) with oC6H4(CH]NR')Li (R' 1⁄4 2,6-iPr2C6H3, 2,6-Me2C6H3, t-Bu) in pentane. The complexes all have 4 coordinate pseudo-tetrahedral aluminum centers ligated by two alkyl groups and one bidentate ligand mo...
