چکیده

Tellurite TeO2–TiO2–Nb2O5 thin film glasses have been produced by pulsed laser deposition. The dispersion of the real and imaginary parts of the linear refractive index has been measured in the range from 300 to 1700 nm. Films present high refractive index n=2.01 and reduced absorption k 10−4 at =1500 nm. The nonlinear third order optical susceptibility 3 has been determined at four different wavelengths 600, 800, 1200, and 1500 nm . The out-of-resonance 3 values 10−12 esu are found to be ten times higher than those of the bulk glass and 102 times higher than that of silica. Compositional and structural analysis reveals an increase of both the Ti atomic content and the fraction of nonbridging oxygen bonds in the deposited films. Both factors lead to a higher hyperpolarizability of the film constituents that is proposed to be responsible for the high 3 value of the films. © 2008 American Institute of Physics. Luminescence Enhancement in Eu(III)-Doped Tellurite Glass Embedded Silver Nanoparticles

Introduction of the metallic nanoparticles (NPs) in the bulk glass received a large interest due to their versatile applications. The effect of silver NPs on optical properties of the Eu3+-doped zinc tellurite glasses is presented for the first time. Glass samples are prepared by melt-quenching technique. The surface plasmon absorption bands of silver NPs are recorded in the visible ...

Impact of Stoichiometry on Structural and Optical Properties of Sputter Deposited Multicomponent Tellurite Glass Films

Multicomponent TeO2–Bi2O3–ZnO (TBZ) glass thin films were prepared using RF magnetron sputtering under different oxygen flow rates. The influences of oxygen flow rate on the structural and optical properties of the resulting thin films were investigated. We observed that thin films sputtered in an oxygen-rich environment are optically transparent while those sputtered in an oxygen-deficient env...

Enhanced Optical Properties of Germanate and Tellurite Glasses Containing Metal or Semiconductor Nanoparticles

Germanium- and tellurium-based glasses have been largely studied due to their recognized potential for photonics. In this paper, we review our recent studies that include the investigation of the Stokes and anti-Stokes photoluminescence (PL) in different glass systems containing metallic and semiconductor nanoparticles (NPs). In the case of the samples with metallic NPs, the enhanced PL was att...

Ab–initio study of the electronic and optical traits of Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 nanostructured thin film

The electronic, and optical properties of rhombohedral Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3nanostructured thin film have been studied by the first–principle approach. Densityfunctional theory (DFT) has been employed to calculate the fundamental properties ofthe layers using full–potential linearized augmented plane–wave (FPLAPW) method. A2×2×1 supercell was constructed with two vacuum slabs o...

STUDY OF THICKNESS DEPENDENT CHARACTERICTICS OF Cu2S THIN FILM FOR VARIOUS APPLICATIONS

Abstract: Different thickness of Cu2S thin films were prepared by vacuum evaporation under a pressure of 10-6 torr at an evaporation rate of 3Å /sec. Cu2S has direct band gap energy and indirect band gap energy at 1.2eV and 1.8 eV respectively. This paper presents the analysis of structural and optical properties of the Cu2S thin film by X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and UV-Vis-NIR Spectrophotomet...
