چکیده

Received May 2007 Accepted August 2007 INTRODUCTION Pseudoaneurysms of the renal artery occur most commonly after a penetrating trauma or as a complication of some renal interventional procedures such as kidney biopsy, percutaneous nephrostomy, and open or endoscopic surgeries on the kidney; however, their occurrence after blunt abdominal trauma is rare.(1) The average interval between injury and onset of the secondary renal hemorrhage is approximately 12 days (range, 2 to 36 days).(2) We present a case with renal artery pseudoaneurysm presented with gross hematuria 8 years after a blunt abdominal trauma.

Traumatic intracranial internal carotid artery pseudoaneurysm presenting as epistaxis treated by endovascular coiling

Traumatic intracranial pseudoaneurysm is a rare complication of blunt trauma. It is even more rare when it presents as epistaxis. Massive epistaxis of a ruptured intracranial internal carotid artery pseudoaneurysm is a major cause of mortality, which requires emergency intervention. We report a case of traumatic intracranial internal carotid artery pseudoaneurysm secondary to skull base fractur...

Successful endovascular treatment of post-traumatic inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery pseudoaneurysm.

True and pseudoaneurysms of the visceral arteries are uncommon. They represent 0.1-0.2 percent of all vascular aneurysms. Visceral artery aneurysms (VAAs) should be treated due to their propensity to rupture and associated high mortality. We describe a 58-year-old man with pseudoaneurysm of the inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery and who presented with post-motor vehicle accident abdominal pain...

Traumatic Supratrochlear Artery Pseudoaneurysm With Spontaneous Resolution

Background: Traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the supratrochlear artery is a rare lesion. It manifests, as a painless mass, in the frontal region following trauma. The unusual incidence and confusing presentation require the clinicians to thoroughly understand its presentation and diagnosis. Diagnosis is typically made on history and physical examination, but it can be confirmed by duplex ultraso...

Damage control surgery in patient with delayed rupture of pseudoaneurysm after blunt abdominal trauma

Delayed rupture of post-traumatic pseudoaneurysms of the visceral arteries, especially the pancreaticoduodenal artery, is uncommon. Here, we describe a 55-year-old man hemorrhaging from a pseudoaneurysm of the inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery (IPDA). Computed tomography of the abdomen showed active bleeding in the IPDA and large amounts of hemoperitoneum and hemoretroperitoneum. Selective me...

Hepatic Artery Pseudoaneurysm: Delayed Presentation after a Blunt Trauma

BACKGROUND Ruptured hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm is a rare condition that is life-threatening if not diagnosed and treated rapidly. We present a case of a spontaneously ruptured hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm that occurred after a blunt trauma, and provide a review of the current literature on this topic. This case study demonstrates a spontaneously ruptured hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm which ...
