چکیده

In robot navigation, one of the important and fundamental issues is to reconstruct positions of landmarks or vision sensors locating around the robot. This paper proposes a method for reconstructing qualitative positions of multiple vision sensors from qualitative information observed by the vision sensors, i.e., motion directions of moving objects. The process iterates the following steps: (1) observing motion directions of moving objects from the vision sensors, (2) classifying the vision sensors into spatially classi ed pairs, (3) acquiring three point constraints, and (4) propagating the constraints. The method have been evaluated with simulations.

From Motion Observation to Qualitative Motion Representation

Since humans usually prefer to communicate in qualitative and not in quantitative categories, qualitative spatial representations are of great importance for user interfaces of systems that involve spatial tasks. Abstraction is the key for the generation of qualitative representations from observed data. This paper deals with the conversion of motion data into qualitative representations, and i...

Empirical Evidence of Advanced Geographic Visualization Interface Use

Several advanced visual interface technologies have emerged in the past few years. Interfaces such as immersive virtual environments (VE) and augmented reality (AR) provide unique forms of interaction with spatial data that have often not been empirically investigated in the geographic visualization literature. At the same time as new interfaces emerge, we must develop an understanding of how t...

On the Representation of Multiple Intelligence Types in the ILI Intermediate Coursebooks: A Coursebook Evaluation

This study aims at evaluating the coursebooks taught at the intermediate level of adult and young adult departments of the Iran Language Institute in terms of multiple intelligence types introduced by Gardner (1983) to see to what extent such coursebooks represent the Multiple Intelligence Theory. To fulfill the objectives, a checklist developed by Botelho (2003) and localized by the researcher...

Representation of actions in rats: the role of cerebellum in learning spatial performances by observation.

Experimental evidence demonstrates that cerebellar networks are involved in spatial learning, controlling the acquisition of exploration strategies without blocking motor execution of the task. Action learning by observation has been considered somehow related to motor physiology, because it provides a way of learning performances that is almost as effective as the actual execution of actions. ...
