چکیده
Fusarium moniliforme (F. moniliforme) is one of the most frequent fungal pathogens found in rice. Samples of rice grown in three different zones of Mazandaran Province, Iran were collected and analyzed for the presence of fumonisin B (FB ). Mycological analysis revealed the presence of F. moniliforme-type isolates 1 1 in 65.1% of the rice samples. Average levels of FB per zones 1, 2 and 3 were 108-6711, 950-7711 and 98-6595 1 μg/g, respectively. Although Rice grown in Mazandaran province is contaminated with FB and depended on 1 geographical zone and period of collection, no significant differences were observed among samples from different zones.

Detection of fumonisins produced in Fusarium moniliforme cultures by HPLC with electrospray MS and evaporative light scattering detectors.
A variety of toxic secondary metabolites including fumonisins, can be produced by the fungus Fusarium moniliforme and closely related species in section Liseola in large amounts (g/kg in laboratory cultures). Underivatized fumonisins were detected by HPLC using either an evaporative light scattering detector or electrospray MS. Electrospray MS used together with NMR and GC/MS was used to identi...
متن کاملHeritability of fumonisin B1 production in Gibberella fujikuroi mating population A.
Fumonisins are mycotoxins produced by strains belonging to several different mating populations of Gibberella fujikuroi (anamorphs, Fusarium section Liseola), a major pathogen of maize and sorghum worldwide. We studied the heritability of fumonisin production in mating population A by crossing fumonisin-producing strains collected from maize and sorghum in the United States with fumonisin-nonpr...

Fumonisins B1 (FB1) and B2 (FB2), two structurally related mycotoxins with cancer-promoting activity, were recently isolated from corn cultures of Fusarium moniliforme MRC 826. These toxins have been reported to be produced also by isolates of F. proliferatum. Contamination of foods and feeds by F. moniliforme has been associated with human esophageal cancer risk, and FB1 has been shown to be t...
متن کاملCharacterization of Fusarium species section Liseola by restriction analysis of the IGS region.
Fusarium species section Liseola namely F. fujikuroi, F. proliferatum, F. andiyazi, F. verticillioides, and F. sacchari are well-known plant pathogens on rice, sugarcane and maize. In the present study, restriction analysis of the intergenic spacer regions (IGS) was used to characterize the five Fusarium species isolated from rice, sugarcane and maize collected from various locations in Pen...
متن کاملMating populations of fusarium section liseola from rice, sugarcane and maize.
Mating studies were conducted on 78 isolates of Fusarium species section Liseola from rice, sugarcane and maize. From the crosses with tester strains of Gibberella fujikuroi species complex, 64.1% (50 out of 78 isolates) were cross-fertile with tester strains of mating populations A to E. The results of the mating studies showed that of the 50 isolates, 19 belonged to mating population A (Gibbe...
