چکیده
Two Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterial strains, MSS-160(T) and MSS-161, were isolated from a marine solar saltern in the Yellow Sea, Korea, and subjected to a polyphasic taxonomic study. The two strains grew optimally in the presence of 2 % (w/v) NaCl and at 25-30 degrees C. Strains MSS-160(T) and MSS-161 contained MK-7 as the predominant menaquinone and large amounts of fatty acids C(16 : 1)omega7c and/or iso-C(15 : 0) 2-OH and iso-C(15 : 0). The DNA G+C content of the two strains was 41 mol%. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that the two strains were phylogenetically affiliated to the genus Algoriphagus. Strains MSS-160(T) and MSS-161 exhibited no difference in their 16S rRNA gene sequences and possessed a mean DNA-DNA relatedness level of 91 %; they exhibited 16S rRNA similarity levels of 96.6-99.3 % to the type strains of Algoriphagus species with validly published names. DNA-DNA relatedness levels between the two strains and the type strains of five Algoriphagus species were lower than 46 %. On the basis of phenotypic, phylogenetic and genetic data, strains MSS-160(T) and MSS-161 were classified in the genus Algoriphagus as members of a novel species, for which the name Algoriphagus yeomjeoni sp. nov. (type strain, MSS-160(T)=KCTC 12309(T)=JCM 12598(T)) is proposed.

Genome Sequence of Salegentibacter salarius KCTC 12974, Isolated from a Marine Solar Saltern of the Yellow Sea in South Korea
Salegentibacter salarius KCTC 12974 is isolated from a marine solar saltern of the Yellow Sea in South Korea. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Salegentibacter salarius KCTC 12974. Various glycoside hydrolase genes in even numbers in the genome reflect the ecological adaption of KCTC 12974 to its habitat.
متن کاملJannaschia seosinensis sp. nov., isolated from hypersaline water of a solar saltern in Korea.
A slightly halophilic alphaproteobacterium, designated CL-SP26T, was isolated from hypersaline water of a solar saltern located in Seosin, Korea. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis revealed an affiliation with the genus Jannaschia. Sequence similarities between CL-SP26T and type strains of members of the genus Jannaschia were 94.9-97.2 %. Cells were rod-shaped and motile with one or more monopolar...
متن کاملPontarachnid mites from marine interstitial, with a description of three new species from South Korea (Acari: Hydrachnidia: Pontarachnidae).
Most of the known pontarachnid species (Acari, Hydrachnidia) live in the marine littoral zone; a few species have been described from freshwaters, but these species were found to occur in estuaries or locations near the sea. Occasionally some specimens of the surface dwelling species were taken from marine interstitial. During a recent survey on marine interstitial fauna along the coast of Sout...
متن کاملDraft Genome Sequence of Algoriphagus sp. Strain NH1, a Multidrug-Resistant Bacterium Isolated from Coastal Sediments of the Northern Yellow Sea in China
Algoriphagus sp. NH1 is a multidrug-resistant bacterium isolated from coastal sediments of the northern Yellow Sea in China. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of NH1, with a size of 6,131,579 bp, average G+C content of 42.68%, and 5,746 predicted protein-coding sequences.
متن کاملTransfer of Bacillus halodenitrificans Denariaz et al. 1989 to the genus Virgibacillus as Virgibacillus halodenitrificans comb. nov.
A Gram-variable, endospore-forming moderately halophilic rod, strain SF-121, was isolated from a marine solar saltern of the Yellow Sea in Korea. The result of 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that strain SF-121 has highest sequence similarity (99.7 %) with the type strain of Bacillus halodenitrificans. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that B. halodenitrific...
