Percutaneous Tension-Band Suture Technique for Distal Patella Fracture Fixation

چکیده
MOJ Orthop Rheumatol 2017, 8(3): 00315 reported rates up to 60 % [3,8,9]. For this reason, some have advocated the use of nonabsorbable sutures such as braided polyester, lowering the rate of revision surgery secondary to symptomatic hardware [3,10-14]. Studied suture material has included number 5 Ethibond (Ethicon, Somerville, NJ, USA), number 5 Ti-Cron (Davis and Geck, Gosport, Hampshire, UK) and number 5 FiberWire sutures (Arthrex, Naples, FL, USA).

Modified Tension Band Wiring in Adult Distal Humeral Fracture Types A2 and C1
Background: Distal humeral fractures accounts for approximately 2% of all fractures and nearly one-third of humeralfractures in adults. In this regard, Modified Tension Bind Wiring (MTBW) technique was used for the fixation of the distalhumeral fractures type A2 and C1 (AO) to evaluate the early movement and complications of the patients. Methods: This study was conducted on 25...
متن کاملBraided Polyester Suture Fatigue Failure When Treating Transverse Patellar Fracture: A Case Report
The incidence of patellar fractures accounts for almost 1% of all skeletal fractures. In case of a displaced patellar fracture, surgical intervention is often advocated for earlier stability, restoration of knee motion, and shortened morbidity. Among various fixations, the AO modified tension band technique, which incorporates two parallel Kirschner wires with an anterior tension band, is the m...
متن کاملFixation of extra articular fracture of inferior pole of patella by on needle stainless steel suture wire
The patella is the largest sesamoid bone in the body. As the patella bone is responsible for the strong extensor mechanism of the knee joint, its reconstruction and anatomical restoration after fracture is always desirable over excision. Extra articular fracture of lower pole of patella accounts for less than 10 percent of all patellar fractures. The treatment of these fractures is complicated,...
متن کاملCannulated Screw and Cable are Superior to Modified Tension Band in the Treatment of Transverse Patella Fractures
BACKGROUND Although the modified tension band technique (eg, tension band supplemented by longitudinal Kirschner wires) has long been the mainstay for fixation of transverse fractures of the patella, it has shortcomings, such as bad reduction, loosening of implants, and skin irritation. QUESTIONS/PURPOSES We conducted a retrospective comparison of the modified tension band technique and the t...
متن کاملMigration of a Kirschner wire to the dorsolateral side of the foot following osteosynthesis of a patella fracture with tension band wiring: a case report
BACKGROUND Patella fractures represent 1 % of all musculoskeletal system fractures. Fixation of patellar fractures using open reduction and tension band wiring is a commonly used and successful surgical fixation method. CASE PRESENTATION A 28-year-old male patient from Turkey presented to our clinic with complaints of palpable foreign bodies under the skin on the dorsolateral side of his righ...
