PT −symmetric square well

چکیده

Below a (comparatively large) measure of non-Hermiticity Z = Z (crit) 0 > 0 of a PT symmetrically complexified square well, bound states are constructed non-numerically. All their energies prove real and continuous in the (Hermitian) limit Z → 0. Beyond the threshold Z (crit) 0 (and, in general, beyond Z (crit) m at m = 0, 1, . . .) the lowest two real energies (i.e., E2m and E2m+1) are shown to merge and disappear. PACS 03.65.Ge, 03.65.Fd

Pt-symmetric Square Well and the Associated Susy Hierarchy

The PT-symmetric square well problem is considered in a SUSY framework when the coupling strength lies below the critical value where PT symmetry becomes spontaneously broken. We find SUSY partner potentials to exist admitting a hierarchy with energy levels depicting an unbroken SUSY situation. Such a hierarchy is a PT-symmetric analogue of the family of sec2-like potentials, to which it reduce...

Pt-symmetric Square Well and the Associated Susy Hierarchies

The PT-symmetric square well problem is considered in a SUSY framework. When the coupling strength Z lies below the critical value Z (crit) 0 where PT symmetry becomes spontaneously broken, we find a hierarchy of SUSY partner potentials, depicting an unbroken SUSY situation and reducing to the family of sec2-like potentials in the Z → 0 limit. For Z above Z 0 , there is a rich diversity of SUSY...

Overcritical PT -symmetric square well potential in the Dirac equation

We study scattering properties of a PT -symmetric square well potential with real depth larger than the threshold of particle-antiparticle pair production as the time component of a vector potential in the Dirac equation. Spontaneous pair production inside the well becomes tiny beyond the strength at which discrete bound states with real energies disappear, consistently with a spontaneous break...

MHD α2−dynamo, Squire equation and PT −symmetric interpolation between square well and harmonic oscillator

It is shown that the α−dynamo of Magnetohydrodynamics, the hydrodynamic Squire equation as well as an interpolation model of PT −symmetric Quantum Mechanics are closely related as spectral problems in Krein spaces. For the α−dynamo and the PT −symmetric model the strong similarities are demonstrated with the help of a 2 × 2 operator matrix representation, whereas the Squire equation is re-inter...

On PT-symmetric extensions of the Calogero and Sutherland models

The original Calogero and Sutherland models describe N quantum particles on the line interacting pairwise through an inverse square and an inverse sinussquare potential. They are well known to be integrable and solvable. Here we extend the Calogero and Sutherland Hamiltonians by means of new interactions which are PT-symmetric but not self adjoint. Some of these new interactions lead to integra...

Imaginary cubic oscillator and its square-well approximation in p−representation
