چکیده

A mechanism for overlapped I/O management operations and computation on a simd linear systolic array is presented. This mechanism is based on two synchronized controllers allowing a speedup factor of 2 over simd machines without overlapped facility. Code generation is achieved using the C-stolic language, specifically designed for the architectural features of overlapped simd systolic arrays. Ce m e-canisme, bas e sur une architecture a deux s equenceurs, autorise un facteur d'ac-c el eration de 2 par rapport a une architecture sans possibilit e de recouvrement. Multithreaded systolic computation: A novel approach to performance enhancement of systolic arrays

In this paper we propose a synergy of processing on parallel processor arrays (systolic or SIMD) and multithreading named multithreaded systolic computation. Multithreaded systolic computation enables simultaneous execution of independent algorithm data sets, or even different algorithms, on systolic array level. This approach results in higher throughput and improved utilization of programmabl...

Reversible Systolic Arrays, Part I: Two-Valued Bijective Single-Instruction Multiple-Data (SIMD) Architectures and their Quantum Extensions

New type of systolic arrays called reversible systolic arrays is introduced. The two-valued quantum systolic architectures’ realizations and computations of the new systolic arrays are also introduced. It is shown that the new systolic arrays maintain the high level of regularity while exhibiting the new fundamental bijectivity (reversibility) and quantum superposition properties. A systolic ar...

Reversible Systolic Arrays, Part II: m-ary Equipollent SIMD Circuits and their Quantum Realizations

This paper introduces new type of m-ary systolic arrays called m-ary reversible systolic arrays which extends the new concept of two-valued reversible systolic arrays that was introduced in the first part of my article. The m-ary quantum systolic architectures’ computations of the new type of systolic arrays are also introduced. The new m-ary systolic arrays maintain the high level of regularit...

Computation of Trigonometric Functions by the Systolic Implementation of the CORDIC Algorithm

Trigonometric functions are among the most useful functions in the digital signal processing applications. The design introduced in this paper computes the trigonometric functions by means of the systolic arrays. The method for computing these functions for an arbitrary angle, , is the CORDIC algorithm. A simple standard cell is used for the systolic array. Due to the fixed inputs, in some...
