Expert perspectives on evidence-based treatment planning for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.

The following report presents highlights from a roundtable discussion between 4 leading experts in HCC: Jorge Marrero, MD, from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Mary A. Maluccio, MD, from the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center, Heather McCurdy, RN, from the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, and Ghassan K. AbouAlfa, MD, from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Cornell Medical College at Cornell University. The panel members share insights into how they stage and monitor patients, their treatment strategies for early-, intermediate-, and advanced-stage HCC, and promising novel therapies on the horizon. In addition, case studies are used to demonstrate selected therapeutic strategies in real-world scenarios.
