Proteomic Analysis of Plasma Molecular Markers as Predictors of Differentiated Thyroid Cancer
نویسندگان
چکیده
The differentiated thyroid cancer is the most frequent endocrine cancer with unpredicted biological evolution. This study aimed to identify potential biomarkers from plasma microvesicles, for early detection, diagnosis and prognosis of cancer versus benign follicular adenoma thyroid lesions. Comparative proteomic analysis between tissue and plasma microvesicles identified eight proteins whose abundances were altered: Filamin-A, Ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1, integrin beta-1, moesin, CD44 antigen, ezrin, vitronectin, and cell division control protein 42 homolog. These proteins in association with the glycosaminoglycans, hyaluronan and heparan sulfate proteoglycans revealed significant alteration levels that may demonstrate participation in tumourigenesis and metastasis.

Predictors of success of the ablative/therapeutic radioiodine (131I) in differentiated thyroid cancer
Introduction:Differentiatedthyroid carcinoma (DTC) constitute approximately 90% of all thyroid tumors with an overall excellent prognosis. However, there is a small group of patients with a more aggressive form of disease, usually associated with certain poor prognostic factors. Using our large database of patients with DTC, the current study aims at identifying some of these f...

Thyroid cancer is one of the most common endocrine malignancies and in the last two decades the number of involved people in the world has been increased. Thyroid cancer in Iran is the seventh most common cancer in women and 14th in men. In recent years many achievements regarding to molecular pathogenic factors such as the substantial role of signaling pathways and molecular abnormalities have...
متن کاملSerum-based metabolic alterations in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma unveiled by non-targeted 1H-NMR metabolomics approach
Objective(s): As the most prevalent endocrine system malignancy, papillary thyroid carcinoma had a very fast rising incidence in recent years for unknown reasons besides the fact that the current methods in thyroid cancer diagnosis still hold some limitations. Therefore, the aim of this study was to improve the potential molecular markers for diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules to...
متن کاملENDOCRINE TUMOURS: Genetic predictors of thyroid cancer outcome.
Genetic predictors of outcome are reviewed in the context of a disease--cancer--that can be (too) simplistically described as a 'successful, invasive clone of our own tissues'. Context has many faces that determine a thyroid cancer patient's outcome beyond the influence of genetic markers. There is also plenty of evidence on the prognostic meaning of the interplay between genetics and context/m...
