An Experimental Model of Idiopathic Pneumonia Syndrome After Bone Marrow Transplantation: I. The Roles

چکیده
Idiopathic pneumonia syndrome (IPS) refers to diffuse, noninfectious pneumonia that occurs after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT). We have developed a model of IPS using a well-characterized murine BMT system (B1O.BR -+ CBA) in which lung injury after BMT can be induced by minor histocompatibility (H) antigenic differences between donor and hest. Lung pathology and broncho-alveolar lavage (BAL) fluid were analyzed in transplant recipients before and after both syngeneic and allogeneic BMT. At 2 weeks after BMT, no specific pathologic abnormalities were noted; at 6 weeks, both pneumonitis and mononuclear cell infiltration around vessels and bronchioles were observed only in mice receiving allogeneic BMT. This injury was associated with elevated BAL fluid levels of endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide [LPSI), neutrophils, and tumor necrosis factor a.

متن کاملA critical role for CCR2/MCP-1 interactions in the development of idiopathic pneumonia syndrome after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation.
Idiopathic pneumonia syndrome (IPS) is a major complication after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (allo-BMT) and involves the infiltration of donor leukocytes and the secretion of inflammatory cytokines. We hypothesized that leukocyte recruitment during IPS is dependent in part upon interactions between chemokine receptor 2 (CCR2) and its primary ligand monocyte chemoattractant protein-1...
متن کاملP 28: Bone Marrow-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Reduces Neuroinflammation and Splenic Cytolytic CD8 + T Cells in Mice with Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis
Introduction: Multiple sclerosis (MS) has been recognized as a common neurodegenerative disease that occurs after an Auto reactive T cells against myelin antigens. Demyelination and inflammation are the main features of this disease. The anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective roles of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) have been considered as a suitable tre...
متن کاملIdiopathic pneumonia syndrome after bone marrow transplantation presenting with "crazy-paving" pattern on high-resolution computed tomography: a case report
The authors present the high-resolution computed tomography findings of a patient with idiopathic pneumonia syndrome after bone marrow transplantation. The main finding consisted of extensive ground-glass opacities superimposed to mild interlobular septal thickening, resulting in the appearance termed "crazy-paving". Following the clinical, laboratorial and imaging criteria, the diagnosis of id...
متن کاملAUTOLOGOUS MARROW TRANSPLANTATION IN THE TREATMENT OF MOPP AND ABVD-RESI STANT HODGKIN\'S DISEASE
Six patients with disseminated Hodgkin's disease resistant to MOPP (mechlorethamine, vincristine, procarbazine and prednisolone), and ABVD (adriamycin, bleomycin, vinblastine and dacarbazine) chemotherapy were treated with high-dose chemotherapy and autologous marrow transplantation. The patients first underwent marrow aspiration and storage for subsequent autologous bone marrow transplant...
