Pure Nash Equilibria in Concurrent Deterministic Games

چکیده
We study pure-strategy Nash equilibria in multi-player concurrent deterministic games, for a variety of preference relations. We provide a novel construction, called the suspect game, which transforms a multi-player concurrent game into a two-player turnbased game which turns Nash equilibria into winning strategies (for some objective that depends on the preference relations of the players in the original game). We use that transformation to design algorithms for computing Nash equilibria in finite games, which in most cases have optimal worst-case complexity, for large classes of preference relations. This includes the purely qualitative framework, where each player has a single ω-regular objective that she wants to satisfy, but also the larger class of semi-quantitative objectives, where each player has several ω-regular objectives equipped with a preorder (for instance, a player may want to satisfy all her objectives, or to maximise the number of objectives

Nash Equilibria in Concurrent Games with Büchi Objectives
We study the problem of computing pure-strategy Nash equilibria in multiplayer concurrent games with Büchi-definable objectives. First, when the objectives are Büchi conditions on the game, we prove that the existence problem can be solved in polynomial time. In a second part, we extend our technique to objectives defined by deterministic Büchi automata, and prove that the problem then becomes ...
متن کاملReport: ρ-Approximate Equilibria in Unweighted Congestion Games
Among other solution concepts, the notion of the pure Nash equilibrium plays a central role in Game Theory. Pure Nash equilibria in a game characterize situations with non-cooperative deterministic players in which no player has any incentive to unilaterally deviate from the current situation in order to achieve a higher payoff. Unfortunately, it is well known that there are games that do not h...
متن کاملThe Complexity of Nash Equilibria in Limit-Average Games
We study the computational complexity of Nash equilibria in concurrent games with limit-average objectives. In particular, we prove that the existence of a Nash equilibrium in randomised strategies is undecidable, while the existence of a Nash equilibrium in pure strategies is decidable, even if we put a constraint on the payoff of the equilibrium. Our undecidability result holds even for a res...
متن کاملPRALINE: A Tool for Computing Nash Equilibria in Concurrent Games
We present PRALINE, which is the first tool to compute Nash equilibria in games played over graphs. We consider concurrent games: at each step, players choose their actions independently. There can be an arbitrary number of players. The preferences of the players are given by payoff functions that map states to integers, the goal for a player is then to maximize the limit superior of her payoff...
متن کاملNash Equilibria in Concurrent Priced Games
Concurrent game structures model multi-player games played on finite graphs where the players simultaneously choose their moves and collectively determine the next state of the game. We extend this model with prices on transitions for each player. We study pure Nash equilibria in this framework where each player’s payoff is the accumulated price of all transitions until reaching their goal stat...
