چکیده
On 22 October 2002, a frontal system entered South Australia (SA), and over the next 36 hours associated strong winds raised dust over a wide region of eastern Australia, from central SA, extending eastwards and northeastwards through SA, New South Wales (NSW) and Queensland (Qld) (see Figs 1 and 2 for locations referred to in the text). Forty-six Bureau of Meteorology synoptic observing stations reported dust during 22-23 October. McTainsh et al. (2005) state that, based on satellite imagery, the dust cloud Aust. Met. Modelling the King Island bushfire smoke
On 11 January 2001 thick smoke was transported behind a cold front from the Lavinia Nature Reserve in the northeast corner of King Island, some 250 km to the northeast (see Fig. 1 for locations) to the Melbourne area. This event led to the highest level of particulate recorded (at the time) in Melbourne since the Ash Wednesday bushfires and the Melbourne Dust Storm of 1983. The smoke from the K...
متن کاملOrigin of dust pollution particulate matter less than 2.5 micron in Mashhad city using HYSPLIT and DREAM8b model
Background and Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate dust origin particulate (PM2.5) in Mashhad city in a long period of time (2014-2019) based on unhealthy days. Furthermore, changes in meteorological parameters and their relationship with dust storms have also been investigated. Materials and Methods: In order to locate dust pollution hotspots in mashhad air, first, information...

1-Interoduction: Air pollution has been considered as one of the global challenges. According to world health organization (WHO), dust particles are the 5th most dangerous cause of death 4.2 million in the world. According to the world meteorological organization (WMO), when the wind speed increases more than 15 m/s and the visibility decreases because of dust particles less than 1 km, it is c...
متن کاملEffective Synoptic Structures in the Supporting Dust Storms over the Persian Gulf
In the paper, the atmospheric conditions in the Persian Gulf region and southwest of Iran were studied by analyzing several case studies in cold and warm seasons. For this purpose, three case studies were selected from the dust events occurred between September and March and have been studied using meteorological stations data, satellite imagery, ECMWF global data, and HYSPLIT and DREAM outputs...
