چکیده

The effect of heparin on the contact phase of coagulation has been investigated by a technique utilizing a solution of toluidine blue in calcium chloride. Heparin in a concentration of 7 units/ml. of plasma does not inhibit contact activation by glass. It is suggested that heparin does not prevent the activation of factor XII (Hageman factor) by glass or the subsequent formation of active factor XI (plasma thromboplastin antecedent).

The anticoagulant mechanism of action of heparin in contact-activated plasma: inhibition of factor X activation.

The effects of heparin on the activation of blood coagulation factors IX and X in contact-activated plasma were determined in the present study. In the presence and absence of 0.5 U/mL heparin, the amounts of factor IX that were cleaved 30 minutes after the addition of calcium and phospholipid to plasma exposed to glass (ie, contact activated) were essentially identical. In the absence of hepar...

Generation of Mature Monocyte-Derived Dendritic Cells in the Presence of Heparin and Monocyte Conditioned Medium: Phenotypic and Functional Comparison

Background: Dendritic cells (DC) induce tumor or pathogen-specific T cell responses in humans. Several laboratories have developed culture systems, including maturation factors for human DC from peripheral blood monocytes. We comprehensively compared standard maturation stimulus, an autologous monocyte-conditioned medium (MCM), with heparin for their ability to promote uniformly mature DC that ...

مطالعه تجربی اثر روشهای مختلف تجویز هپارین در جلوگیری از چسبندگی در التهاب عفونی و غیرعفونی صفاق در خوکچه هندی

Background & Aim: Abdominal surgery may lead to intra-abdominal adhesion. Therefore scientists suggest different methods to prevent this problem. Use of heparin, by its mechanism of coagulation pathway inhibition, is one of these methods. The aim of this study was the comparison of various methods of heparin administration in prevention of post-surgical abdominal adhesion. Materials and Met...

Efficient De-colorization of Methylene Blue by Electro-coagulation Method: Comparison of Iron and Aluminum Electrode

In this study, removal of methylene blue by electro-coagulation method using aluminum and iron electrodes was investigated. The influence of the operating parameters such as contact time, current density, anode type, inter-electrodes distance, initial and final pH and energy consumption rate was determined. Dye removal was increased with increases in solution pH, current density and c...

Performance of Chemically Modified TiO2-poly (vinylidene fluoride) DCMD for Nutrient Isolation and Its Antifouling Properties

The surface properties of TiO2-PVDF nanocomposite membranes were investigated by incorporating different chemically modified TiO2 nanoparticles into the poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) matrix. The nanocomposite membranes were prepared via dual coagulation bath diffusion and the induced phase inversion method. The membrane surface morphologies were investigated by using SEM and AFM and related...
