Compressed Sensing and Matrix Completion with Constant Proportion of Corruptions

چکیده
In this paper we improve existing results in the field of compressed sensing and matrix completion when sampled data may be grossly corrupted. We introduce three new theorems. 1) In compressed sensing, we show that if the m× n sensing matrix has independent Gaussian entries, then one can recover a sparse signal x exactly by tractable l1 minimization even if a positive fraction of the measurements are arbitrarily corrupted, provided the number of nonzero entries in x is O(m/(log(n/m) + 1)). 2) In the very general sensing model introduced in [7] and assuming a positive fraction of corrupted measurements, exact recovery still holds if the signal now has O(m/(log n)) nonzero entries. 3) Finally, we prove that one can recover an n × n low-rank matrix from m corrupted sampled entries by tractable optimization provided the rank is on the order of O(m/(n log n)); again, this holds when there is a positive fraction of corrupted samples.

A Block-Wise random sampling approach: Compressed sensing problem
The focus of this paper is to consider the compressed sensing problem. It is stated that the compressed sensing theory, under certain conditions, helps relax the Nyquist sampling theory and takes smaller samples. One of the important tasks in this theory is to carefully design measurement matrix (sampling operator). Most existing methods in the literature attempt to optimize a randomly initiali...
متن کاملWeighted algorithms for compressed sensing and matrix completion
This paper is about iteratively reweighted basis-pursuit algorithms for compressed sensing and matrix completion problems. In a first part, we give a theoretical explanation of the fact that reweighted basis pursuit can improve a lot upon basis pursuit for exact recovery in compressed sensing. We exhibit a condition that links the accuracy of the weights to the RIP and incoherency constants, wh...

متن کاملSpectral Clustering with Compressed, Incomplete and Inaccurate Measurements
Spectral clustering is one of the most widely used techniques for extracting the underlying global structure of a data set. Compressed sensing and matrix completion have emerged as prevailing methods for efficiently recovering sparse and partially observed signals respectively. We combine the distance preserving measurements of compressed sensing and matrix completion with the power of robust s...
متن کاملTwo Algorithms on Matrix Completion and Compressed Sensing
Compressed Sensing and Matrix Completion, two fields existing for decades, recently led by Emmanuel Candès, Terrence Tao and David L. Donoho, are becoming one of the most active researching areas in computational harmonic analysis. The fundamental principle of Compressed Sensing is that, through optimization, the sparsity of f ∈ RN , with N ∈ N an unknown but supposed to be compressible signal,...
