Enabling PC-Based HIL Simulation for Automotive Applications
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper describes new technologies that enable the use of the affordable PC hardware as the computing platform for high-performance electromechanical simulation. Challenging applications such as real-time hardware-in-the-loop and mega-simulation are made possible using a combination of PC-based simulation environment, distributed architecture, and software solutions to numerical problems that arise from fixedtime step integration. The technologies are flexible enough to allow expansion and reconfiguration, and cover the entire design process from modeling to real-time simulation or control without the engineer ever having to write code.

Virtualizing the TCU of BMW's 8 speed transmission
Virtualization allows the simulation of automotive ECUs on Windows PC in closedloop with a vehicle simulation model. This has a great potential to improve the development process for ECUs, because it allows to move several development tasks from road, test rigs and HiL (Hardware in the loop) to PCs, where they can be per formed faster and cheaper. In this paper, we report the implementation of ...

A real-time simulator is an essential means for swiftly designing and verifying embedded time-sensitive and/or real-time applications especially in automotive and transportation. A cost-effective real-time simulator platform for research in automotive electronics has been developed and performed both hardware-/software-inthe-loop (HIL/SIL) simulations of an automated collision prevention (ACoP)...

متن کاملAssessment of high-integrity embedded automotive control systems using hardware in the loop simulation
Sensor-based driver assistance systems often have a safety-related role in modern automotive designs. In this paper we argue that the current generation of “Hardware in the Loop” (HIL) simulators have limitations which restrict the extent to which testing of such systems can be carried out, with the consequence that it is more difficult to make informed decisions regarding the impact of new tec...
