چکیده
This is a description of the historical, physical and industrial features of the principal centres of mineral productions in the British Dominions beyond the seas, by Mr. R. Stokes, the late Mining Editor of the Rancl Daily Neivs of Johannesburg. It is a brief but comprehensive review of the mineral treasures of the British Empire. It is worthy of notice that the following important minerals are products almost essentially British ; tin, gold, nickel, diamonds, mica, plumbago, sapphires and asbestos. India, though a young mining countiy, receives full notice, though the later developments of the great Bengal coal industry are not included. Notice is given of mica, iron, coal, saltpetre, manganese, gold, etc., in India.

The major argument of this essay is that Kipling treats the colonial subject as the "other," and Forster proves to be almost as pro-Empire as writers like Kipling. Nevertheless, A Passage to India is eloquent in rejecting British values and introducing Indian voices. This novel records a shift in attitude in terms of exposing the bitter realities about and attitudes of British imperialists. Des...

Robert Gordon’s trip to the Mogok ruby mines in northern Burma, as reported in his testament to the Royal Geographical Society in 1888, represents one of the most blatant uses of travel as empire building in the Mekong Region. While European explorers and adventurers had been travelling to and along the region for centuries, most had been intent on mapping, surveying and categorizing its conten...

Determination a sequence of extracting ore is one of the most important problems in mine annual production scheduling. Production scheduling affects mining performance especially in a poly-metallic open pit mine with considering the imposed operational and physical constraints mandated by high levels of reliability in relation to the obtained actual results. One of the important operational con...

In 2003, Red Chris Development Company started collecting baseline data to support its application for environmental approvals to mine the Red Chris porphyry copper-gold deposit located in northwestern British Columbia, Canada. An extensive geochemical testing program revealed that the majority of the waste rock has the potential to generate acid. However, the presence of significant quantities...

The oxidation of sulfide minerals in coal and mine's waste materials produce acid mine drainage. The evaporation, oxidation, dilution and neutralization of this acid drainage lead to formation of secondary minerals. Due to having broad surface spreading these minerals have the potential of maintaining sulfates and many of the metallic elements. In order to carry out mineralogical and geochemica...
