چکیده

Throughput of inventoried tags is one the most important performance parameters for RFID systems. This paper presents an enhancement for the anti collision protocol for frame slotted ALOHA in RFID systems. It is especially designed for application with known size of the tag population such as in assembly lines or conveyer belts. It exploits the fact of low probability regions of the event space and is based on restarting a frame after the observation of a part of the whole frame. The performance of this algorithm is evaluated on different tag populations.

A Improved Frame Slotted Aloha Protocol with Early End in Mobile RFID Systems

Frame slotted ALOHA (FSA) protocol is a classic tag anti-collision protocol. Similar to most existing anti-collision protocols, The FSA initially aims at tag identification of static scenarios, that is, all tags keep still during the tag identification process. However, in many real scenarios, tags generally move along a fixed path in the reader coverage area, that is, tags stay the coverage ar...

Asymptotic Analysis of Backlog Estimates for Dynamic Frame Aloha

In this paper a new analysis is presented that allows to investigate the asymptotic behavior of some backlog estimation procedures for Dynamic Frame Aloha (DFA) in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) environment. Although efficiency e−1 can theoretically be reached, none of the solution proposed in the literature has been shown to reach such value. Here we analyze first the Schoute’s backlog ...

Enhancing privacy of recent authentication schemes for low-cost RFID systems

Nowadays Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems have appeared in lots of identification and authentication applications. In some sensitive applications, providing secure and confidential communication is very important for end-users. To this aim, different RFID authentication protocols have been proposed, which have tried to provide security and privacy of RFID users. In this paper, we a...

On the optimal frame-length configuration on real passive RFID systems

The majority of the anti-collision protocols proposed for passive RFID systems are based on Frame Slotted Aloha (FSA). They assume a classical result in FSA-based protocols which states that the theoretical identification throughput is optimized when the number of competing tags in coverage equals the number of slots in the frame. However, this is not exact in real RFID systems, as the so-calle...
