Motivated by the renormalization group argument on conformal theories with a finite IR cutoff IR, we conjecture that the propagator of a meson GHðtÞ on a lattice behaves at large t as a power-law corrected Yukawa-type decaying form GHðtÞ 1⁄4 ~ cH exp ð ~ mHtÞ=t H instead of the exponentially decaying form cH exp ð mHtÞ, in the small quark mass region where mH c IR: mH is the mass of the ground state hadron in the channel H and c is a constant of order 1. The transition between the ‘‘conformal region’’ and the ‘‘confining region’’ is a first order transition. Our numerical results verify the predictions for the Nf 1⁄4 7 case and the Nf 1⁄4 16 case in the SU(3) gauge theory with the fundamental representation.

On Quantum Field Theories
We derive unitarity restrictions on the scaling dimensions of primary quantum operators in a superconformal quantum field theory, in d =3, 4, 5, 6. 1. Introduction Whereas classical massless field theories are often conformally invariant, the same is rarely true of their quantum counterparts. To define a quantum field theory, you need to specify both a Lagrangian and a cutoff. The cutoff introd...
متن کاملQuantum Liouville Field Theory as Solution of a Flow Equation
A general framework for the Weyl invariant quantization of Liouville field theory by means of an exact renormalization group equation is proposed. This flow equation describes the scale dependence of the effective average action which has a built-in infrared cutoff. For c < 1 it is solved approximately by a truncation of the space of action functionals. We derive the Ward identities associated ...
متن کامل8 The AdS / CFT / Unparticle Correspondence
We examine the correspondence between the anti-de Sitter (AdS) description of conformal field theories (CFTs) and the unparticle description of CFTs. We show how unparticle actions are equivalent to holographic boundary actions for fields in AdS, and how massive unparticles provide a new type of infrared cutoff that can be simply implemented in AdS by a soft breaking of conformal symmetry. We a...

We propose a novel RG method to specify the location of the IR fixed point in lattice gauge theories and apply it to the SU(3) gauge theories with Nf fundamental fermions. It is based on the scaling behavior of the propagator through the RG analysis with a finite IR cut-off, which we cannot remove in the conformal field theories in sharp contrast with the confining theories. The method also ena...
