چکیده

We study long time dynamical properties of a chain of harmonically bound Brownian particles. This chain is allowed to wander everywhere in the plane. We show that the scaling variables for the occupation times Tj, areas Aj and winding angles θj (j = 1, . . . , n labels the particles) take the same general form as in the usual Brownian motion. We also compute the asymptotic joint laws P ({Tj}), P ({Aj}), P ({θj}) and discuss the correlations occuring in those distributions.

Monte Carlo simulations of stress relaxation of entanglement-free Fraenkel chains. I. Linear polymer viscoelasticity.

Shear stress relaxation modulus GS(t) curves of entanglement-free Fraenkel chains have been calculated using Monte Carlo simulations based on the Langevin equation, carrying out both in the equilibrium state and following the application of a step shear deformation. While the fluctuation-dissipation theorem is perfectly demonstrated in the Rouse-chain model, a quasiversion of the fluctuation-di...

Free Vibration Analysis of 2D Functionally Graded Annular Plate considering the Effect of Material Composition via 2D Differential Quadrature Method

This study investigates the free vibration of the Two-Dimensional Functionally Graded Annular Plates (2D-FGAP). The theoretical formulations are based on the three-dimensional elasticity theory with small strain assumption. The Two-Dimensional Generalized Differential Quadrature Method (2D-GDQM) as an efficient and accurate semi-analytical approach is used to discretize the equations of motion ...

Equilibrium and Dynamics of Dilute Polymer Solutions

Polymers show universal behavior at long length and time scales. In this chapter, the equilibrium and dynamics of dilute polymer solutions is presented in terms of theoretical models that form the basis of polymer physics. The size of an ideal polymer is calculated from the freely jointed chain model, the freely rotating chain model and the Gaussian equivalent chain model. The Edwards Hamiltoni...

Rouse Mode Analysis of Chain Relaxation in Homopolymer Melts

We use molecular dynamics simulations of the Kremer-Grest (KG) bead-spring model of polymer chains of length between 10 and 500, and a closely related analogue that allows for chain crossing, to clearly delineate the effects of entanglements on the length-scale-dependent chain relaxation in polymer melts. We analyze the resulting trajectories using the Rouse modes of the chains and find that en...

On the Dynamics and Disentanglement in Thin and Two-Dimensional Polymer Films

We present results from molecular dynamics simulations of strictly two-dimensional (2D) polymer melts and thin polymer films in a slit geometry of thickness of the order of the radius of gyration. We find that the dynamics of the 2D melt is qualitatively different from that of the films. The 2D monomer mean-square displacement shows a t power law at intermediate times instead of the t law expec...
