چکیده

We report small-angle neutron scattering studies of grafted copolymer films of perfluorinated poly(ethylene propylene), FEP, base polymer and polystyrene, PS, grafted blocks. The films show highly anisotropic scattering patterns, revealing nematic-like ordering of the crystalline domain structure as a consequence of the processing conditions. Upon grafting, the styrene swells the amorphous domains in the copolymer formation. For styrene content beyond roughly 15%, the amorphous regimes increase on the cost of crystalline domains. To stabilize the rather welldefined domain structure already given by the original FEP base material, the samples need to be cross-linked. Without cross-linking, the nanometer length scale domains vanish, and some large scale structure takes over, likely driven by the immiscibility between FEP and PS. VC 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Directed Self-Assembly of Block Copolymer, No1

/Description The PS-rich and neutral PS-b-PMMA block copolymer (BCP) films were spin coated on the neutral random copolymer hydroxyl-terminated PS-r-PMMA layers grafted on the native oxide and 50 nm thick PECVD amorphous silicon oxide layers. Relationship between the grafting density of BCP and surface density of hydroxyl moiety on silicon oxide is discussed. Furthermore, optimization of anneal...

Identifying the nature of surface chemical modification for directed self-assembly of block copolymers

In recent years, block copolymer lithography has emerged as a viable alternative technology for advanced lithography. In chemical-epitaxy-directed self-assembly, the interfacial energy between the substrate and each block copolymer domain plays a key role on the final ordering. Here, we focus on the experimental characterization of the chemical interactions that occur at the interface built bet...

Donor – acceptor block copolymers carrying pendant PC 71 BM fullerenes with an ordered nanoscale morphology †

We present a straightforward method for the preparation of a novel donor–acceptor block copolymer based on an acceptor block with pendant phenyl-C71-butyric methyl ester (PC71BM) and a regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) as a donor. First, a hydroxyl-functionalized polystyrene copolymer with an azide end group was synthesized via nitroxide-mediated radical polymerization (NMRP) and was c...

Morphological, structural and photoresponse characterization of ZnO nanostructure films deposited on plasma etched silicon substrates

ZnO nanostructure films were deposited by radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering on etched silicon (100) substrates using dry Ar/SF6 plasma, at two etching times of 5 min and 30 min, and on non etched silicon surface. Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) technique was employed to investigate the elements contents for etched substrates as well as ZnO films, where it is found to be stoichiometric. Su...

Nano-structural Characterization of Post-annealed ZnO Thin Films by X-ray Diffraction and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy

ZnO thin films were deposited on Si(400) substrates by e-beam evaporation technique, and then post-annealed at different annealing temperatures (200-800°C). Dependence of the crystallographic structure, nano-strain, chemical composition and surface physical Morphology of these layers on annealing temperature were studied. The crystallographic structure of films was studied using X-Ray Diffracti...
