چکیده

Those numeral classifier languages like Korean, Japanese, and Chinese mobilize classifiers together with numerals in naming and counting objects in the world. Classifiers serve to classify objects according to their shape, function and other semantic features often culturally defined. Discrete (or fuzzy) numerals are used to count the number of objects. In Korean and Japanese, plural marking also occurs but it is not syntactically obligatory and is often semantically/pragmatically oriented. In Chinese, a plural NP is definite. Plural marking in classifier languages is different from that in Indo-European

A Hybrid Framework for Building an Efficient Incremental Intrusion Detection System

In this paper, a boosting-based incremental hybrid intrusion detection system is introduced. This system combines incremental misuse detection and incremental anomaly detection. We use boosting ensemble of weak classifiers to implement misuse intrusion detection system. It can identify new classes types of intrusions that do not exist in the training dataset for incremental misuse detection. As...

Two kinds of definites in numeral classifier languages

Numeral classifier languages are shown to distinguish definite noun phrases licensed by uniqeness from those licensed by familiarity. Unique definites are expressed by bare nouns, while familiar definites are expressed by indexicals such as demonstrative descriptions or pronouns. This generalization parallels the observation by Schwarz (2009) that German distinguishes unique versus familiar or ...

Multilingual Generation of Numeral Classifiers using a Common Ontology

In this paper, we present a solution to the problem of generating both Japanese and Korean numeral classifiers using semantic classes from an ontology. Most nouns must use a numeral classifier when they are quantified in languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Malay and Thai. In order to select an appropriate classifier, we propose an algorithm which associates classifiers with semantic cl...

Extracting Ontological Relations of Korean Numeral Classifiers from Semi-structured Resources Using NLP Techniques

Many studies have focused on the facts that numeral classifiers give decisive clues to the semantic categorizing of nouns. However, few studies have analyzed the ontological relationships of classifiers or the construction of classifier ontology. In this paper, a semi-automatic method of extracting and representing the various ontological relations of Korean numeral classifiers is proposed. Sha...

Formalization of Ontological Relations of Korean Numeral Classifiers

Though many studies emphasized on the characteristics of numerals classifiers and the construction of database, or ontology of classifiers, few studies attempted to formalize them. This paper briefly presents preprocessing for the extraction of ontological relations from language resources, and formalizing those extracted relations with OWL DL. Then the overall result of building Korean numeral...
