چکیده

We present an unusual case of subjective right-sided pulsatile tinnitus that resolved spontaneously within a few weeks after diagnostic superselective angiography. The possibility of dural arteriovenous fistula should be kept in mind even in subjective tinnitus. Conventional angiography may be the only modality that shows the abnormality.

Therapeutic embolization of the dural arteriovenous malformation involving the jugular bulb.

Pulsatile tinnitus is a rarely occurring symptom of vascular origin. Most frequently, the symptoms are due to an arteriovenous malformation, to a tumor of the jugular glomus or to a local arterial stenosis. A 39-yr-old Korean male suffering from pulsatile tinnitus of the left ear was diagnosed to have dural arteriovenous malformation of the jugular bulb. Magnetic resonance imaging and angiograp...

Cranial dural arteriovenous fistula as a rare cause of tinnitus – case report

BACKGROUND Tinnitus, occurring at least once in a lifetime in about 10-20% of the population, is an important clinical problem with complex etiology. Rare causes of tinnitus include cranial dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs), which are usually small lesions consisting of abnormal connections between branches of dural arteries and venous sinuses or veins. CASE REPORT Authors present a case o...

Atypical Feeding and Drainage of Dural AV Fistula

Dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVF) are frequent causes of pulsatile tinnitus. Color Doppler sonography may play a useful, complementary role to CTA/MRA and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in the assessment of these anomalies’ characteristics, such as an ipsilateral increased flow volume and a low resistive index. In this article, we report a case of DAVF first detected with Color Doppler...

Pulsatile Tinnitus with a Dural Arterio-Venous Fistula Diagnosed by Computed Tomography-Angiography

A 43 year-old female patient suffered the sudden onset of pulsatile tinnitus in the left ear 2 months ago. The tinnitus did not subside spontaneously and remained unchanged. The patient had no history of head trauma or surgery of the head and neck. The character of the tinnitus was pulsatile, and it was synchronous with the heart beat. Audiologic examinations were performed and all of the resul...

Spontaneous closure of dural arterio-venous fistula.

Sir, Dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs) account for 10–15% of the intracranial arteriovenous malformations. Though a subgroup of DAVFs has been reported to have a benign course complete spontaneous disappearance of DAVFs is uncommon. A 25-year-old male presented to us with history of headache and pulsatile tinnitus for three months with no deficits on neurological examination. Digital subtrac...
