Non-Invasive Fractional Flow Reserve Estimation with Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography

چکیده
Coronary artery disease (CAD) remains a significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide [1]. Myocardial ischemia results when myocardial blood flow is insufficient to meet demand; this causes symptoms and affects patient outcome [2]. According to current guidelines for the management of stable CAD, revascularisation should be guided by the presence of myocardial ischaemia. The treatment of non-ischaemic stenosis is controversial [3].

Invasive and non-invasive fractional flow reserve index in validation of hemodynamic severity of intracoronary lesions
This review discusses visual and functional evaluation of the hemodynamic significance of the degree of stenosis in coronary angiography, with respect to the indications for revascularization. The concept of the coronary flow reserve is defined, and the theoretical assumptions of the invasive measurement of the fractional flow reserve (FFR) are presented. In the following part, the publication ...

Based on review of available data, the Company may consider the use of noninvasive fractional flow reserve (FFR) following a positive coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) to guide decisions about the use of invasive coronary angiography (ICA) in patients with stable chest pain at intermediate risk of coronary artery disease (CAD i.e., suspected or presumed stable ischemic heart disea...

متن کاملFractional Flow Reserve and Coronary Computed Tomographic Angiography
Background: Invasive Fractional Flow Reserve Obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) produces symptoms and increases the risk of adverse cardiac outcomes. However, determining whether a particular coronary stenosis is responsible for causing myocardial ischemia can be challenging, even with invasive coronary angiography (ICA). To help guide decisions in the cardiac catheterization laboratory,...
