Kinematics on oblique axes

چکیده
We solve a difficult problem involving velocity and acceleration components along oblique axes, and propose two problems of central force motion to be solved using oblique axes.

Abdominal muscles dominate contributions to vertebral joint stiffness during the push-up.
The goal of this study was to quantify the relative contributions of each muscle group surrounding the spine to vertebral joint rotational stiffness (VJRS) during the push-up exercise. Upper-body kinematics, three-dimensional hand forces and lumbar spine postures, and 14 channels (bilaterally from rectus abdominis, external oblique, internal oblique, latissimus dorsi, thoracic erector spinae, l...
متن کاملAn oblique effect for transparent-motion detection caused by variation in global-motion direction-tuning bandwidths
Despite evidence for the broad direction tuning of global-motion detectors, transparent motion can be detected with comparatively small angular separations. The exact means by which this broad population response is decoded to yield multiple signal directions remains unclear. Consequently, we sought to determine the relationship between angular separation thresholds for transparent motion and t...
متن کاملReduced Oblique Effect in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
People are very precise in the discrimination of a line orientation relative to the cardinal (vertical and horizontal) axes, while their orientation discrimination sensitivity along the oblique axes is less refined. This difference in discrimination sensitivity along cardinal and oblique axes is called the "oblique effect." Given that the oblique effect is a basic feature of visual processing w...
متن کاملThe oblique effect in orientation acuity
We have examined the dependence of rotational acuity on the orientation bandwidth of a stimulus using two-dimensional, band-pass filtered, spatial noise. Stimuli had a bandwidth of 0.5 octave of spatial frequency, centred at 5.0 cyc/deg, and an orientation bandwidth that covered the range from 0.0 to 25.0 deg. Thresholds were obtained on one principal (vertical), and one oblique axis (45 deg). ...
متن کاملMisalignment Effect Function Measurement for Oblique Rotation Axes: Counterintuitive Predictions and Theoretical Extensions
The Misalignment Effect Function (MEF) describes the decrement in manual performance associated with a rotation between operators’ visual display frame of reference and that of their manual control. It now has been empirically determined for rotation axes oblique to canonical body axes and is compared with the MEF previously measured for rotations about canonical axes. A targeting rule, called ...
