Congenital trigger fingers are rare. I 4 Of seven reported cases, only one involved digits of both hands.:! Although they usually resulted in a flexion deformity, we found one report of a joint blocked in extension. 2 Our patient was unable to make a fist with either hand or to flex the interphalangeal joint of either thumb. Surgical release of all ten digits corrected his extension block and restored function.
