Design of Compact and Wideband FSS by Cutting Slot Within the Square Patch

This paper deals with the theoretical investigation on size reduction and wideband operation of Frequency Selective Surface (FSS). The modified FSS has an excellent angular stability performance. The compactness has been achieved by etching out unique types of slot from Square shaped patch. Gradually the dimensions of the slots are modified. At last, in Proposed FSS the size reduction is achieved up to 81.33% with respect to the reference FSS with resonance frequency at 5.55 GHz is obtained. Theoretical investigations have been done by Ansoft® designer software. The FSS measurement and simulation results are presented.
