Quasi-Four-Dimensional-Neuroncube and its Application to Motion Estimation

چکیده
Motivated by a motion detection system the application of a new category of Kohonen‘s Self-Organizing Map (SOM) [8] is presented in this paper. Based on earlier work of Seiffert and Michaelis on three-dimensional SOMs [10], [11] a new implementation of growing multi-dimensional SOMs, the Quasi-Four-Dimensional Neuroncube (QFDN), has already been introduced in [12]. This paper focuses on the application of the QFDN to motion estimation.

Two More Modifications of SOMs to Handle Signals with Special Properties
This paper presents two variations of the Self-Organizing Map in order to adapt it for special input signal attributes. The first one improves the properties concerning outliers and clusters with low feature density within the provided training data set by changing the neighbourhood function while training the net. In the second introduced modification the originally twodimensional feature map ...
متن کاملThe Quasi-Normal Direction (QND) Method: An Efficient Method for Finding the Pareto Frontier in Multi-Objective Optimization Problems
In managerial and economic applications, there appear problems in which the goal is to simultaneously optimize several criteria functions (CFs). However, since the CFs are in conflict with each other in such cases, there is not a feasible point available at which all CFs could be optimized simultaneously. Thus, in such cases, a set of points, referred to as 'non-dominate' points (NDPs), will be...
متن کاملLoading Estimation of Flapping Wings under Aeroelastic Effect Using Finite Element Method
The aim of this paper is to provide an aeroelastic computational tool which determines the induced wing loads during flapping flight. For this purpose, a Finite Element (FE) code based on a four-node plate bending element formulation is developed to simulate the aeroelastic behavior of flapping wings in low incompressible flow. A quasi-steady aerodynamic model is incorporated into the aeroelast...
متن کاملTrue Motion Estimation — Theory, Application, and Implementation
This thesis offers an integrated perspective of the theory, applications, and implementation of true motion estimation. Taking the pictures of 3D real-world scene generates sequences of video images. When an object in the three-dimensional real world moves, there are corresponding changes in the brightness—or luminance intensity—of its two-dimensional image. The physical three-dimensional motio...
متن کاملDesign and Fabrication of a Four-Dimensional Respiratory Phantom for Studying Tumor Movement in Radiotherapy with Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Introduction: In radiation therapy, determining the location of the tumor accurately during irradiation is one of the most important requirements. However, lung tumors are not fixed in a single location and move during irradiation due to respiratory motion. Due to limitations in assessing such movements, using a lung phantom can be useful and operational for their fast, easy an...
