Confidence and reliability measures in speaker verification
نویسندگان
چکیده
Speaker verification is a biometric identity verification technique whose performance can be severely degraded by the presence of noise. Using a coherent notation, we reformulate and review several methods which have been proposed to quantify the uncertainty in verification results, some with a view to coping with the effects of mismatched training-testing environments. We also include a recently proposed method, which is firmly rooted in a probabilistic approach and interpretation, and explicitly measures signal quality before assigning a reliability value to the speaker verification classifier’s decision. We evaluate the performance of the confidence and reliability measures over a noisy 251-users database, showing that taking into account signal-domain quality can lead to better accuracy in prediction of classifier errors. We discuss possible strategies for using the measures in a speaker verification system, balancing acquisition duration and verification error rate. r 2006 The Franklin Institute. Confidence Measure Based Model Adaptation for Speaker Verification
Confidence measures are expected give a measure of reliability on the result of a speech/speaker recognition system. Most commonly used confidence measures are based on posterior word or phoneme probabilities which can be obtained from the output of the recognizer. In this paper we introduced a linear interpretation of posterior probability based confidence measure by using inverse Fisher trans...

This paper addresses the problem of speaker verification in two speaker conversations, proposing a set of confidence measures to assess the quality of a given speaker segmentation. We study how these measures can be used to estimate the performance of a state-of-the-art speaker verification system, the I3A submission for the core-summed condition in the NIST SRE 2010. We present a Factor Analys...

Our approach for speaker segmentation is based on the eigenvoice paradigm. We present...
متن کاملUsing Exciting and Spectral Envelope Information and Matrix Quantization for Improvement of the Speaker Verification Systems
Speaker verification from talking a few words of sentences has many applications. Many methods as DTW, HMM, VQ and MQ can be used for speaker verification. We applied MQ for its precise, reliable and robust performance with computational simplicity. We also used pitch frequency and log gain contour for further improvement of the system performance.
