چکیده
The value of knowledge assets in creating competitive advantage and subsequently wealth through innovation has never been greater (Teece, 1998). It is increasingly being acknowledged that the resources and the competencies developed within the organisation as well as the mechanisms for building up and reconfiguring these competencies is the only defence against a fierce competition (Penrose, 1959; Prahalad & Hamel, 1990; Teece, Pisano & Shuen, 1997). However, the nature of knowledge production has changed dramatically over the last years. According to Gibbons et al. (1994), the knowledge production has moved from mode 1 to mode 2. The new mode:

A Reference Architecture for Automation of Inter-Organizational Process-Oriented Collaboration
In today’s competitive, dynamic, and changing business environment, being able to collaborate globally within and beyond the enterprise borders is critical. Inter-Organizational Collaborations (IOCs) have been proposed as a response to the characteristics of highly competitive global business environments. So far, a number of reference models, frameworks, and ad hoc architectures related to som...
متن کاملService Definition, Deployment, Management and Architectures in Telecommunication Networks: From Intelligent Networks to Service Oriented Architectures
The rapid globalization of world enterprises and the pressing need to provide networks and services more responsive to the “end users” push the telecommunications world towards rapid service deployment and new integrated value-added technology solutions. Service orientation, initially introduced in Intelligent Networks and currently further exploited within the Service Oriented Architectures (S...
متن کاملService-oriented Knowledge Architectures - Integrating Learning and Business Information Systems
This paper presents a dissertation project on business-integrated, service-oriented learning architectures. The isolation of corporate learning management from core business functions at all levels of a coherent sociotechnical enterprise system (task, technology and people) motivates the objective to integrate learning into business information systems. Connecting to related standards and frame...
متن کاملLearning Design and Service-oriented Architectures: a Mutual Dependency?
This paper looks at how the concept of reusability has gained currency in e-learning. Initial attention was focused on reuse of content, but recently attention has focused on reusable software tools and reusable activity structures. The former has led to the proposal of service-oriented architectures, and the latter has seen the development of the Learning Design specification. The authors sugg...
متن کاملRetrieving Content with Agents in Web Service E-learning Systems
In recent years, e-learning started to attract a lot of attention from researchers as well as practitioners. Many of the existing architectures of e-learning systems are mainly based on plain client-server or peer-topeer architectures and are therefore suffering from drawbacks like poor scalability or complicated interchange of content. In this paper, we present a distributed, service-oriented ...
