Quarks , Quaternions , and Weakly Coupled Gauge Fields

چکیده
Using the ring of complex quaternions, the more active view of weakly coupled gauge fields is formulated in such a way that, in the SU(.2) x U(1) model of Salam, Ward, and Weinberg, for example, AS # 0, AQ 2 0 effects are properly suppressed without the appearance of a new quark field in the Lagrangian-only p, n, and h. quark fields appear. Here, S is strangeness and Q is electric charge. The success of the more active view of the SLJ (2) x U(1) model in describing I'$ h quarks is not disturbed by this new formulation. Here, 2 and ma is the mass of a.

A microscopic theory of gauge mediation
We construct models of indirect gauge mediation where the dynamics responsible for breaking supersymmetry simultaneously generates a weakly coupled subsector of messengers. This provides a microscopic realization of messenger gauge mediation where the messenger and hidden sector fields are unified into a single sector. The UV theory is SQCD with massless and massive quarks plus singlets, and at...
متن کاملHard Thermal Loops from Transport Processes
Because the running coupling g(T ) of QCD decreases as a function of temperature T , the SU(3) color gauge theory becomes weakly coupled in the high temperature limit. Numerical simulations of the lattice gauge theory with dynamical quarks have shown that the equation of state ǫ(T ) makes a transition from the low-temperature phase, where the effective degrees of freedom are hadrons, to a high ...
متن کاملAbelian gauge fields coupled to simplicial quantum gravity
We study the coupling of Abelian gauge theories to four-dimensional simplicial quantum gravity. The gauge fields live on dual links. This is the correct formulation if we want to compare the effect of gauge fields on geometry with similar effects studied so far for scalar fields. It shows that gauge fields couple equally weakly to geometry as scalar fields, and it offers an understanding of the...
متن کاملLocalization of Non-Abelian Gauge Fields on Domain Walls at Weak Coupling (D-brane Prototypes II)
Building on our previous results (Ref. [4]), we study D-brane/string prototypes in weakly coupled (3+1)-dimensional supersymmetric field theory engineered to support (2+1)-dimensional domain walls, " non-Abelian " strings and various junctions. Our main but not exclusive task is the study of localization of non-Abelian gauge fields on the walls. The model we work with is N = 2 QCD, with the gau...
متن کاملComposite Weak Bosons: a Lattice Analysis
The Standard Model [1] (SM) describes the strong, weak and electromagnetic interactions by a gauge theory based on the group GSM = SU(3) × SU(2) × U(1) which is broken by the Higgs mechanism to SU(3)×U(1). The theory is essentially determined once the matter fields and their transformation under the local gauge transformations of GSM are specified. The matter fields (leptons and quarks) and the...
