چکیده

The proposed Perception Evolution Network (PEN) is a biologically inspired neural network model for unsupervised learning and online incremental learning. It is able to automatically learn suitable prototypes from learning data in an online incremental way, and it does not require the predefined prototype number and similarity threshold. Meanwhile, being more advanced than the existing unsupervised neural network model, PEN permits the emergence of a new dimension of perception in the perception field of the network. When a new dimension of perception is introduced, PEN is able to integrate the new dimensional sensory inputs with the learned prototypes, i.e., the prototypes are mapped to a high-dimensional space, which consists of both the original dimension and the new dimension of the sensory inputs. We call it a Cognition Deepening Process. Artificial data and realworld data are used to test the proposed PEN, and the results show that PEN can work effectively.

Emergence of novel color vision in mice engineered to express a human cone photopigment.

Changes in the genes encoding sensory receptor proteins are an essential step in the evolution of new sensory capacities. In primates, trichromatic color vision evolved after changes in X chromosome-linked photopigment genes. To model this process, we studied knock-in mice that expressed a human long-wavelength-sensitive (L) cone photopigment in the form of an X-linked polymorphism. Behavioral ...

The Explanation of the Influence of Sensory Perception on The Sense of Belonging to The Place in The Mosques of Contemporary Neighbourhoods (Case Study of Qazvin's Contemporary Neighborhood Mosques)

Mosques have been the oldest, most important and uncompetitive religious element of Iranian cities. Unfortunately, mosque formation patterns and principles and symbolic perception, have been forgotten recently, especially at neighborhood mosques level. recovery of Iranian-Islamic architectural and urbanization identity is main responsibility of architects and urban planners, and this is the mai...

Cellular Adaptation Facilitates Sparse and Reliable Coding in Sensory Pathways

Most neurons in peripheral sensory pathways initially respond vigorously when a preferred stimulus is presented, but adapt as stimulation continues. It is unclear how this phenomenon affects stimulus coding in the later stages of sensory processing. Here, we show that a temporally sparse and reliable stimulus representation develops naturally in sequential stages of a sensory network with adapt...
