Extended Critical Paths in Temporal Planning

چکیده

Timed initial literals refer to a recently added feature to the problem domain description language PDDL. Besides the modelling perspective to express exogenous events, this language extension allows to impose deadlines to action execution and to select temporal plans of high quality. For efficiently solving problems with explicit timing requirements, the work in this paper extends a two-stage planning/scheduling system where the sequential plan is built followed by a critical path scheduling phase to find a parallel arrangement. Timed initial literals are included into the plan finding and scheduling process in form of time windows for action execution. Compared to earlier work, the temporal model is refined to include slack and to allow overlappings of dependent actions. The apparently simple scheduling phase is faster than other approaches to establish parallel plans, but expressive enough to cope with current benchmark problems. Through its efficiency, it applies not only to schedule complete plans, but also partial and relaxed plans. Correctness and optimality of the algorithms are shown, and limitations of the approach are discussed. Empirical evidence is given by providing plans for many temporal planning problems.

Extended LTLvis Motion Planning interface (Extended Technical Report)

This paper introduces a graphical interface for Linear Temporal Logic (LTL) specifications for mobile robots. It is a sketch based interface built on the Android platform which makes the LTL control interface more friendly to non-expert users. By predefining a set of areas of interest, this interface can quickly and efficiently create plans that satisfy extended plan goals in LTL. The interface...

CPPlanner: A Temporal Planning System using Critical Paths

Introduction The last few years have seen a lot of significant improvements in AI planning. One of the most well-known advances is the Graphplan approach (Blum & Furst 1997), which has been the basis of many planners, such as GP-CSP (Do & Kambhampati 2001a), TGP (Smith & Weld 1999), TPSYS (Garrido, Fox, & Long 2002), STAN (Fox & Long 2001), LPGP (Fox & Long 2002)... In TGP and TPSYS, it has bee...

Analysis of critical paths in a project network with random fuzzy activity times

Project planning is part of project management, which is relates to the use of schedules such as Gantt charts to plan and subsequently report progress within the project environment. Initially, the project scope is defined and the appropriate methods for completing the project are determined. In this paper a new approach for the critical path analyzing a project network with random fuzzy activi...

Non-Deterministic Planning with Temporally Extended Goals: Completing the Story for Finite and Infinite LTL (Amended Version)

Temporally extended goals are critical to the specification of a diversity of real-world planning problems. Here we examine the problem of planning with temporally extended goals over both finite and infinite traces where actions can be nondeterministic, and where temporally extended goals are specified in linear temporal logic (LTL). Unlike existing LTL planners, we place no restrictions on ou...

Planning in Dynamic Environments Through Temporal Logic Monitoring

We present a framework that enables online planning for robotic systems in dynamic environments. The PLANrm framework presented in this work utilizes the theory of robustness and monitoring of Metric Temporal Logic (MTL) specifications to inspect and modify available plans to both avoid obstacles and satisfy specifications in a dynamic environment. The use of MTL allows the practitioner to set ...
