Dynamics of Genetic Information: Fundamental Basis and Cancer
نویسنده
چکیده
Teams in this unit aim at elucidating the regulation of mechanisms that are crucial to the maintenance of genome integrity, like DNA replication, repair and recombination, as well as the role of cell cycle checkpoints and non-coding RNAs in genome and epigenome maintenance. Experimental models include yeast, mammalian and human cell lines, mutant mouse models and tumour samples. A large variety of methods is used including genetic, molecular and cytogenetic techniques, fluorescence in situ hybridisation and DNA 'combing', as well as high throughput sequencing approaches such as DNA-seq for mutation landscape analyses, RNA-seq for transcrip-tome analyses and ChIP-seq mapping of chromatin-associated proteins and their genome-wide modulation in response to DNA damages.

Diagnosis of Breast Cancer using a Combination of Genetic Algorithm and Artificial Neural Network in Medical Infrared Thermal Imaging
Introduction This study is an effort to diagnose breast cancer by processing the quantitative and qualitative information obtained from medical infrared imaging. The medical infrared imaging is free from any harmful radiation and it is one of the best advantages of the proposed method. By analyzing this information, the best diagnostic parameters among the available parameters are selected and ...
متن کاملMolecular targets of pomegranate (Punica granatum) in preventing cancer metastasis
Metastasis is the primary cause of mortality and morbidity among cancer patients and accounts for about 90% of cancer deaths. The most common types of treatment for cancer metastasis are chemotherapy and radiotherapy. However, such therapy has many serious side effects that could diminish the quality of life in patients. There is increased appreciation by the scientific community that natural c...
متن کاملPareto Optimization of Two-element Wing Models with Morphing Flap Using Computational Fluid Dynamics, Grouped Method of Data handling Artificial Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms
A multi-objective optimization (MOO) of two-element wing models with morphing flap by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques, artificial neural networks (ANN), and non-dominated sorting genetic algorithms (NSGA II), is performed in this paper. At first, the domain is solved numerically in various two-element wing models with morphing flap using CFD techniques and lift (L) and drag ...
متن کاملGenetic polymorphism of N142D GSTO2 and susceptibility to breast cancer: a meta-analysis
To establish a comprehensive picture of the relationship between glutathione S-transferase omega 2 (GSTO2; MIM: 612314) gene N142D variant (rs. 156697) and breast cancer risk, the present meta-analysis was carried out. Studies published up to July 2012 with information about GSTO2 polymorphism and breast cancer risk were identified using several electronic databases. We identified 4 eligible st...
متن کاملA MODEL FOR EVOLUTIONARY DYNAMICS OF WORDS IN A LANGUAGE
Human language, over its evolutionary history, has emerged as one of the fundamental defining characteristic of the modern man. However, this milestone evolutionary process through natural selection has not left any ’linguistic fossils’ that may enable us to trace back the actual course of development of language and its establishment in human societies. Lacking analytical tools to fathom the cr...
