Performance Analysis of Indoor Infrared Wireless Systems Using OOK CDMA on Di use Channels

چکیده
We analyze the bit error rate (BER) performance of indoor infrared wireless systems using on-o keying (OOK) code division multiple access (CDMA) on di use channels by taking the e ects of intersymbol interference (ISI) over several chips into account. We evaluate howmuch the transmitted power should be increased on di use channels to compensate the performance degradation due to the ISI.

The effect of pulse shaping on the performance of non-directed wireless infrared OOK-CDMA systems
In this paper we propose the use of pulse shaping for mitigating the effect of channel distortion on the performance of indoor wireless infrared (IR) CDMA systems. The bit error rate (BER) performance of an on-off keying (OOK)-CDMA system as a function of the average transmitted power is investigated. To this end, photoncounting model is utilized and major noises such as shot noise, ambient lig...
متن کاملAnalysis of Indoor Wireless Infrared Optical CDMA LAN Using Prime Codes
-In wireless optical system, CDMA suits well for high bit rate systems where good security is needed and mobility is not important. It would be economical when compared to radio frequency band and much safer since there is no electromagnetic effect. Infrared systems are used for its widest bandwidth and are not affected by radio transmission. The advantage of the prime code and the security iss...
متن کاملEqualization for infrared wireless systems using OOK-CDMA
|We evaluate the performance of indoor infrared wireless systems using ono keying code-division multiple-access (OOKCDMA) systems with three kinds of equalizers: decision-feedback equalizer (DFE), decisionfeedforward-and-feedback equalizer (DFFE), and feedforward equalizer (FE). To estimate the impulse response, we use the training sequence that alternates `1' and `0' sequentially. Among three ...
متن کاملBit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)
In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...
متن کاملChannel reuse strategies for indoor infrared wireless communications
We examine systems of fixed-channel reuse for base stations in an indoor infrared wireless communication system. The following techniques are compared: • time-division multiple access (TDMA) using on-off keying (OOK) or pulse-position modulation (PPM); • frequency-division multiple access (FDMA) using binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) or quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK); • code-division mult...
