چکیده

A major step forward along the path towards the implementation of secure Internet voting in Spain was taken in November 2003. For the first time in this country, a non-binding remote electronic voting pilot was run in parallel to a public election, in particular the 2003 election to the Parliament of Catalonia. The e-voting pilot was also the first of this kind to gain the requisite approval by Spain’s Central Electoral Council, ant it is still the most significant up to date. The objective of the trial was to evaluate the advantages, usability, security and reliability of this voting system in consideration of its potential use in future elections, mainly as a complementary channel to postal voting. The trial provided valuable empirical information regarding practical technological and social issues surrounding e-voting.

Design and implementation of a novel secure internet voting protocol using Java Card 3 technology

Internet voting is highly regarded for its speed, automatic counting, cost reduction and lower possibility of error. However, in order to replace traditional voting system with internet-voting, i-voting must meet many requirements and overcome some challenges like collusion, uncoercibility, unfairness and in particular voter insecure platforms. In this paper, we propose a very practical and sec...

Making Code Voting Secure Against Insider Threats Using Unconditionally Secure MIX Schemes and Human PSMT Protocols

Code voting was introduced by Chaum as a solution for using a possibly infected-by-malware device to cast a vote in an electronic voting application. Chaum’s work on code voting assumed voting codes are physically delivered to voters using the mail system, implicitly requiring to trust the mail system. This is not necessarily a valid assumption to make especially if the mail system cannot be tr...

Anonymous Secure E-Voting Over a Network

In this paper, we propose two new anonymous secure electronic voting schemes that protect the privacy of the voters and prevent double voting. These schemes do not require any special voting channel and the communications can occur entirely over existing networks such as the Internet. The proposed schemes are based on ElGamal digital signature algorithm and can be applied to elections in a vari...

E-voting technology is not neutral!

Voting procedures and technologies have to guarantee that elections are free and secure. Most of the procedural safeguards rely on the social context of the ballot. E-voting may seriously change this. If voters consider the new technology as less privacy protecting, as less secure, and as less accountable, they may change their voting behavior. This may influence their decision whether to parti...

A Secure Anonymous E-Voting System based on Discrete Logarithm Problem

In this paper, we propose a practical and secure anonymous Internet voting protocol. This method integrates Internet reality and cryptology. Issues such as the kinds of “certificate authority” and “public proxy server” are integrated in our scheme to solve the Internet identification and anonymity problems. To combine and make up a series of ElGamal blind signature and secret sharing cryptosyst...
