چکیده

The realization of spin-orbit coupled systems by way of laser-induced Raman transitions in ultracold atoms gives an invaluable approach to simulate quantum many body physics. In order to realize such phenomena in the lab, these systems must be coherent. We create a negative feedback phase stabilization interferometer in order to achieve coherence between two beams for use in spinorbit coupling experiments. We utilize a 790nm Ti:Sapphire laser, acousto-optic modulators, and a Newport LB1005 proportional-integral servo controller. We test the stabilization under various conditions.

Cluster Luttinger liquids of Rydberg-dressed atoms in optical lattices.

We investigate the zero-temperature phases of bosonic and fermionic gases confined to one dimension and interacting via a class of finite-range soft-shoulder potentials (i.e., soft-core potentials with an additional hard-core onsite interaction). Using a combination of analytical and numerical methods, we demonstrate the stabilization of critical quantum liquids with qualitatively new features ...

Spectroscopy, Structural, and Optical Investigations of NiFe2O4 Ferrite

Ni ferrite crystalline material is synthesized using a sol-gel method at two different temperatures. The vibrational and stretching modes, crystalline phase, size distribution and morphology of the products are investigated via Raman back-scattering and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, XRD and FESEM, respectively. Vibrational modes of spinel ferrite are observed at Raman and FTIR...

Bose-Einstein condensate in a light-induced vector gauge potential using 1064-nm optical-dipole-trap lasers

Using two crossed 1064-nm optical-dipole-trap lasers to be the Raman beams, an effective vector gauge potential for Bose-Einstein condensed 87Rb in the F = 2 hyperfine ground state is experimentally created. The moderate strength of the Raman coupling still can be achieved when the detuning from atomic resonance is larger than the excited-state fine structure, since rubidium has 15 nm energy-le...

The problems of cavity atom optics in the presence of an external strong coherent field are formulated as the problems of potential scattering of doubly-dressed atomic wave packets. Two types of potentials produced by various multiphoton Raman processes in a high-finesse cavity are examined. As an application the deflection of dressed atomic wave by a cavity mode is investigated. New momentum d...

Observations of λ/4 structure in a low-loss radio-frequency-dressed optical lattice

We load a Bose-Einstein condensate into a one-dimensional (1D) optical lattice altered through the use of radio-frequency (rf) dressing. The rf resonantly couples the three levels of the 87Rb F = 1 manifold and combines with a spin-dependent “bare” optical lattice to result in adiabatic potentials of variable shape, depth, and spatial frequency content. We choose dressing parameters such that t...
